Rosy, when I decided to quit I had almost a full pack. My daughter (who had quit before me using this site) insisted we have a cigarette distroying ceremony. I took each cigarette one by one stated the reason I was quitting and broke it in pieces and dropped it into a bowl of water. 1. So I can breath better. break and soak. 2. Because I'm sick all the time. break and soak. 3.so I can be around my grandkids. break and soak. Before the cigarettes were all gone I was crying and couldn't think of a reason. She said "Could it be they cost too much?" I have relieved that in my head many times when the craves were bad. Have yourself a ceremony you will be glad you did. I couldn't even see myself as a non-smoker then. I can't see myself as a smoker now. It is not easy but it is worth it. Hi Rosy! It's unanimous - get rid of the smokes!!! You can do this! It really isn't that hard! I never thought I could handle quitting, but when I made my mind up to do it, I surprised myself! Deep breathing helped me though major craves. Go for it! hey Rosie, I would drown those cigs, make sure no one can ever smoke them :D I was a little harsher with my craves, I told them to F*&^off - it worked for me ;p Whatever works for you, that is what you do. Rosey, chuck the smokes. Make the committment right now! Quitting won't kill you, but the cigarettes surely will! Read all you can at this site and you will learn what will happen to you and how you will feel. Having a stash is not a good idea, it undermines your quit! You control what happens in your life, not a cigarette, so throw them away and buy a bag of hard candy or gum or straws instead and hang out with out for a few days! :) Smoking is NOT an option! NOPE! I keep telling myself that no matter what it is I am feeling smoking will NOT make it better, it will only make me feel worse. Someone also said in another thread - "I'd rather be a non-smoker who thinks about smoking than a smoker who is constantly wishing they could quit" (I hope I plagerized that correctly :) ) Jen My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/10/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 30 Amount Saved: $6.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 29 Seconds: 16

Hi Rosey Congratulations on your decision. You can do this. Best for you to get rid of that pack of cigs...it only acts as a temptation which you don't need. Feel free from the burden of smoking once you get rid of them. I'm on Day 3 now and it's getting a little easier although Day 3 is the hardest as I've been told. Just got to keep a mindset not to smoke. Hang in there. Yes the first few days are the hardest, you have to use your willpower. Throw that pack of smokes away, that just an excuse to fallback and smoke again. You can do this. You will do this.
