Hi Xena, It's great to see you back here and ready to go. You know that smoking makes your pulse rate increase, not decrease. You may think it is calming you down, but it is actually making you more anxious. What you are doing is feeding the nicotene junkie. Welcome back - stay close and scream at us! Xena! I am so happy that you came here again. This is the place to be. Call it the right place at the right time. Me, and all your friends, and you know who they all are, are here for you, to help you with this, to hold your hand, and to be by your side so that you can cross the line with us and be on the good side of the fence. It'll be uncomfortable, yes, at the beginning, but you will feel better when you make a big "X" in those calendar boxes every day! You just fight fire with fire sweetie. When it gets so rough, just have yourself a little snooze so it passes. I wouldn't fool around with this quit too much, I came across a big grizzley bear that weighs 252 lbs. on here and I think he means business! LOL So lean on us, lean on me, I'm with you all the way. Your friend always, Lou (Louise from Beautiful British Columbia) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1661 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 33,220 Amount Saved: $14,118.50 Life Gained: Days: 219 Hrs: 19 Mins: 38 Seconds: 50

Hello Xena, Gosh Friend, You sure came to the right place, If You don't quit on this website, then You don't want to quit very bad, So hitch up You boot straps, Grit Your teeth, and get the Eye of the Tiger, because Here is where it happens, Yes, Most places You get in that boat by Yourself when You quit, but on here, It gets awful crowded in Your boat, believe me, You might call Us All,!!! Cheerleaders, but the most beautiful thing that made me quit, is the People from around this world right here, Who don't even know You, encourageing You to quit the Cigerettes, and that Motivation was enough for me to say!! You Got Me, I Quit, Now Xena, One word of advice which work for me quite well, When You give up one addiction, You have to replace it with another, So Friend, get Yourself a good pair of walking shoes, and get addicted to taking long walks, it is such a good stress reliever, and it also keeps those pounds off, and eat healthy foods, and last but not least, make this website Your home for the next few months, Yes friends are friends, but this is more like family, Good Luck, I have faith in You, Smokless In Oklahoma :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1672 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 50,160 Amount Saved: $7,156.16 Life Gained: Days: 390 Hrs: 23 Mins: 1 Seconds: 13

Xena, the patches did itch a bit for me the first day or so, but I also found if I focused on it, then it was more annoying, try to think about something else.Or wear it in an area that has less sensitive skin. (ie upper arm) :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 215 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,375 Amount Saved: $2,268.25 Life Gained: Days: 26 Hrs: 8 Mins: 22 Seconds: 9

Hi Xena and welcome back. Pay attention to nonic:
Remember, as soon as you take a drag of a cigarette, you are starting the clock...As the nicotine goes through its half life, the clock ticks down and down and down, until it is zero hour again and then you NEED to smoke...This means that you will drop all of the other NEEDS and run to the alter of the tobacco industry to do your hourly tribute...End the addiction and you will have destressed your life in an amazing way...
The addiction causes you stress every 20 minutes or so. Wouldn't it be wonderful to be free of that twice-an-hour need for a junkie fix? I would suggst that you also pay attention to your words and to the conditions you are putting on your quit. Which cigarette in your pack is the one that will lead to heart disease or cancer? And if you do gain a little weight, isn't that better than losing weight due to illness? It is your choice to smoke or not.
