I FINALLY GOT THE POWER TO THROW OUT OL NIC AS I HAVE HEARD IT CALLED ON THE SITE. TOOK SOME TIME FOR ME TO DO IT BUT I AM GLAD I DID. SO TODAY IS MY FIRST DAY SMOKE FREE DAY. I WAS SMOKING 2 OR 3 SINCE I TRYED TO QUIT LAST WEEK. NOW I KNOW I CAN DO IT. AM GETTING MORE ENCOURAGEMENT AT HOME AND IT HELPS. ALSO I HAVE HEALTH PROBLEMS WHERE I SHOULD NOT BE SMOKING. WISH ME LUCK THIS TIME. ARE THERE A LOT OF YOU THAT SLIP FROM TIME TO TIME BUT COME BACK SUCCESSFULLY SMOKE FREE??? Good for you slivers. January 1-2007 was the beginning of my new life,as a non-smoker, it is the best life you could imagine. I had tried in the past to quit several times, but always went back to old NIC. This time is different, my reason for doing it are different, this time there is no going back. Way to go....getting rid of all temptations is important in the beginning...also, avoiding situations that will tempt you is also very important the first few weeks or so. Protect your quit at all costs. Someone once referred to it as a new born baby, and you need to protect it as such. You can do it...keep posting! Proud of you. Trash is the best place for anything resembling cigarettes. re: slipping. Old Nick thinks I am a friend of his. Right now I am not answering his phone calls. Hi slivers :) I'm happy to see that you have the strength and determination to keep trying to knock that old habit down even though it's been so hard for you so far. It's never easy, but if you've learned from past failures, they will have been worth the trouble. I have a good feeling that you'll make it this time!
