Healthy, Welcome to the site and congratulations on becoming an ex-smoker! It is great to hear that you are ready to quit! The question is are you prepared? Please take advantage of our free Online Treatment Program in your glove compartment as you log into our site. This program will first help you determine if youre ready to quit. If youve already quit and are looking for some help, this program is for you. Although the program will first assess if youre ready to quit the exercises at the beginning of the program will help remind you of the reasons why you quit in the first place. Dont get frustrated - ex-smokers have told us that the exercises at the beginning of the program gave them confidence and helped them reaffirm their personal commitment to remain smoke free. The exercises in this program are divided into six major milestones. Think of each milestone as a destination youre trying to reach. After you complete the exercises in each milestone, your car will progress along the road map located at the bottom left-hand side of the screen. The best thing about this program is that it is free and you dont have to purchase any products to use this program. We hope that we have guided you in the right direction today! Please feel free to contact our support department in our feedback section found at the bottom of this page if you continue to have any questions or concerns. Or, please continue to join us here at our online support group! We wish you all the best and look forward to helping you achieve your goals! well Goodmorning and thanks to all who replyed to my first posting yesterday on MY FIRST DAY being smoke free. It had to have been the worst day for me in a very LONG time! It didn't help that I had come upon new added stress the same day of choosing to quit smoking yesterday. Today is a new day, it is day 2. I am now heading to pick up my daughter and enjoy this great day off work and visit my inlaws. My usual routine would be to have a cup of coffee with my mother in law in her salarium, sun porch catch up on things since we have visited last and enjoy having our cigarettes together! Well today it will be different. I only hope that DAY TWO will be alot easier then yesterday.

Hello it's me again and I'm looking for some help. I am new to this site and today was my second Smoke free day. Only I am trying to get the hang of using thise site still. When I posted, I posted under introduce yourself. Then I read the reply's by going through my emails that notify someone has posted a reply back to me which has been GREAT! Thankyou all... But now how do I continue to communicate with you all the same one's, so I continue to click on Introduce myself and just reply to posting? Anyway this is what i am doing for tonight. I am much to frusturtated to figure it out anymore today. Today was LONGGGGGGGGG painful and again a day of thinking for myself "Maybe I should just go down to having a couple smokes a day" and wean myself in a more realistic way because this setting a date thing and just quitting cold turkey has been so painful. I'm sad, I feel alone, I feel depressed and I just feel empty. I would honestly be happy to just go outside on my deck and enjoy a smoke before going to sleep tonight! But I won't. Goodnight all, thanks and to the one who said he would be keeping an eye for me please do! I need the help. Thanks! Wishing good health and strong days to all.

Hi HealthyLife and welcome... Quitting is hard - it's really hard. It may be the hardest thing you've ever done (it is for me and many here). Hang tight and read as many posts here as you can. You did the right thing - ask for suppport when you need it. You can do this. Hi Healthy Life - I too only smoked 5-6 cigs a day and thought that it would be easier to quit than my husband who smokes a pack a day. Well....it was hell to say the least. I called my Doctor and she gave me Wellbrutin which helped the cravings. I only took it for about 3 weeks (because it upset my stomach) but it took me through the hard beginning weeks. Hang in there - and just think about all the time you are getting to spend with your beautiful daughter smoke free and all the years that you will be adding to your life. I am proud of you. HealthyLife, I hope you went on to bed and not to your deck. The feelings you are having are normal, I know they don't feel noraml. Have you thought of using the patch or gum? I used the patch and did really well with it. You might want to go to your Dr and see what he would suggest. But just know that we are always hear during your sad times and your happy time I will be watching you, because I believe you are a winner!!! :) SUNSHINE My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 86 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,463 Amount Saved: $301 Life Gained: Days: 12 Hrs: 9 Mins: 7 Seconds: 52

HealthyLife, I envy you quitting at 26! I so wish I would have done that. I am sure it is just as hard quitting no matter how much you smoke. Addicted is addicted. Everyones brain needs a certain amount of nicotine and yours just happened to only need a little, but you are still addicted. If you really want this you can do it. Don't wait till you are older. If you are going cold turkey and that does not work for you, consider getting the patch. Using an nrt is better then smoking and can really help if cold turkey does not work. I used the patch and it really helped to wean myself off the nicotine. You still have to be strong as you will still have cravings. I have had a few really bad days but if you really want to NOT smoke more then you WANT to smoke, you may have a hard time, but you can fight them off. Also try strong cinnamon gum instead of bubble gum. That has helped me alot. I smoked for 30 years, so if I can do this anybody can!
