Healtylife... hang in there. Take some really deep breaths and drink a lot of water. Walking is also a good way to distract yourself and the exercise is good for you as well. It really doesn't matter how much you smoked. A few can be just as dangerous as 3 packs a day. Smoking is smoking and it kills. Congratulations on making it through day one. When things seem to be a bit overwhelming, take it five minutes at a time, one step at a time. It does get easier and quitting is so worth it but you have to go through getting all those chemicals out of your body first and that is not picknic. Just remember that every day is one day closer to never feeling this way again. Hope you have a good walk. Hi, Oh my does your tale bring back some scary thoughts. 1 minute at a time, and each m inute gives you a win! Tears, fear of life, disregard for my own life, and again I would tell myself 1 minute at a time. I did finally use Nicotine gum, it allowe me to get past one problem at a time. A little easier, and then finally time took over and here I am... 366 days later... Honest it does get better, walking is great, i finally gav e in and gained 10 pounds, you can lose that. Please hang in there and know that there are people out here who have been there, who understand what you feel and empathize with you! You CAN DO IT! HealthyLife, I really envy You for going cold turkey, Its hard enough using medication, But You know, I learned almost from day One of my quit, that If You give up like cigerettes or the habit of having them, Find another Habit to replace them, Only, not as addictive, Like really taking up excercising daily, Maybe dieting on good healthy foods, Take up rock climbing, Join the Y,W,C,A, You think the way You feel now, or the last 2 or 3 days is going to be hell for Ya, NO Friend, Every week gets better and better for You, Yes, You do take one day at a time, But this is really short term, Your biggest weapon in defeating this addiction, Is to stay as close to this website as You possibly can, in the next 2 to 3 months, for that is the most criticial, Make Friends, Talk on here daily to people on how You feel, I guarantee You, Your not the only one in the boat, There are Other People right along beside You, wanting the same results as You are, You have heard the saying, We are stronger in Number's, That's very true on this website, Don't expect outside Help, For Your Help is right here Friend, I speak from experience, I know You feel helpless about not be able to smoke or having something in You hands, Myself, I cut a large milk shake straw in half, and keep it with me at all times, and when that urge hits You, grab that straw and take some deep breaths off of it a few minutes, that urge will leave You, what is the harm, You are drawing oxygen through a straw,, Don't give up Friend, You can do this, Smokless In Oklahoma :)

Hello HealthyLife, Hang in there Friend, For no one said that its gonna be easy to quit, but its certainly a step in the right direction, Myself just pased the 3 year mark of not smoking one puff or one cigerette, and I was a pack and a half Person per-day, Friend, do me a favor and Yourself one, Go for that walk out that front door EVERYDAY, For its so good for You, its like giving up one bad habit, and picking up one good habit, don't believe walking ever killed anyone, unless they were hit by a car, And secondly, start eating healthy foods for Your body daily, I don't know how much a pack of cigerettes are in Your area, but try now to spend some of that on healthy foods, and excercising,, But like told Others, Please take One day at a time, and mark it off on Your calendar with a black marking pencil, for that is how You kick this addiction, Never look pass today, You will make it Friend, Just Get the Eye of the Tiger, and show that nickodemon Who's in charge of Your life and journey, Will be watching You, Take care, Smokless In Oklahoma :)
