We're here, and we're FEB-U-LOUS!!!

Pool night was almost smoke-free for me...I did smoke MY OPPONENT!!! You thought I'd smoke again? You're crazy! Hubby seems to have lost the will to fight on Wednesdays. I'm very frustrated by this...again. Having had a couple beers, I said to him many times "you're weak" (knowing this isn't the most therapeutic approach)...he didn't care. Though at one point he did say to me "I will do anything to protect YOUR quit". While I find that very chivalrous, I also find it disturbing that he doesn't care about his own quit. He's also nervous because he took his last Wellbutrin last night before I left for work...he thinks he needs the Wellbutrin to even attempt to protect his quit. I keep telling him it's all in his head, but he's not that confident in himself. Oh by the way, I did use a couple of Changing's suggestions. I told everybody not to give me a cigarette, and I had a hair elastic on my wrist, and I explained to everyone that I would snap it when I thought about smoking (didn't hurt because it was a very loose hair elastic, but everyone got the point). So anyway, I made it! Thanks for all the support and care! ~Carolyn (aka Nursey) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 752 Amount Saved: $225 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 13 Mins: 41 Seconds: 47

Nurse - Some ideas for you: (1) Put a thick rubberband around your wrist - write "N.O.P.E." on it - if you get a craving - snap that rubberband 5 times. (2) Between drinks, suck on a cinnamin candy or peppermint. (3) If you have a craving - say to yourself "I'm thinking that I want to smoke right now but that's not an option - there's nothing to debate - smoking is not an option". (4) Remind your hubby & everyone else that you don't smoke. Make yourself accountable! (5) If you start struggling, just imagine that all of us Febulous Februarians are hiding in the bar waiting to pounce on you if you even come close to lighting up! And we are a tough gang! :eg: The thing is Nurse - tonight might be hard, but you've been through many hardships in your life before - and you can surely make it through any craving! There is no need or reason to hurt yourself tonight (aka smoke). I'm looking forward to reading your bragging post tomorrow! Wow, congrats MomMom, and being a younger sib myself, I bet Nursey's success lit some of the fire under her older sister's motivation. That's just terrific. Hope she joins us here at SSC as well. MomMom - My mother has never had a single cigarette in her entire life - not even a single puff - and look at me! So, don't blame yourself for your daughters smoking.
