I'm so sorry to leave everyone hanging.  After I posted here, I got help from a different source.  My 4 yr old woke up with a raging fever.  I was up with her for most of the night (it was night time here).  I was too busy taking care of her and dozing in between to worry about smoking!  Having sick kids did me a favor.

Can't tell you how much I appreciate all of your support!   I knew that when I logged on today I would have quite a few replies and some anxious messages worrying that I fell off the wagon.  Last night was the closest I've come to smoking this week.

But now have to run and take the two healthy ones off to school.  Thanks again!  You are all so awesome!
AK

Wow Jen.  That is a really great analogy.  It seems simple but it is so true.  When you think you are craving, you really are just wanting to feel a different way, and we always used smoking to do that.  You are right, it does get better and easier to deal with.  Life goes on if we smoke or not...so lets not!!

Hi AK, I hope you are hanging in there!  I can tell you that if you do it gets SO much easier.  Here I am at 3 months and 20 days and for me, I don't even want one anymore.  Sure there are those "auto-thoughts" that a smoke sounds like a good idea, or sometimes I am experiencing something so negative I really think that I'd like to smoke, but really, when I REALLY think about the act of having one and breathing in that yucky poison I realize that I don't truly want to smoke, I just want to feel different than I am feeling at the time. And we all know there are many ways to accomplish that without smoking.  You will get through this part, it will pass I promise - then that will be one more crave stronger that you are and one more crave that you will never have to experience again if you keep this quit.  That is really it, if you keep the quit it will get easier and easier.

Be strong and keep your quit!

:)

Jen

DON'T GIVE IN!!!!!

You can do it - really you can. Deep breaths - take a walk - do whatever it takes to not smoke. The nicodemon is trying whatever it can to keep you from killing it. DON'T LISTEN.

I hope you're past the crave and you're still with us....
