Stopped Smoking on 9th Febuary, 2014

Congratulations on starting your quit Tipu. It sounds like your body really needs to heal. I'm glad you are keeping on top of your chest pain symptoms by seeing your doctor. Chest pain is never something you want to take chances with.

How are you keeping yourself motivated despite all this pain you have been experiencing?

Hi, I have finally decided to quit smoking on 9th Feb, 2014. I had my last cigarette on this day. I smoked a pack per day (20 cigarettes) for 3 years. From 5th Feb to 9th Feb, I had very bad cough. I thought my lungs would come out when i used to cough. I will update here my daily progress for those who are trying to quit and have same issues:

9th to 13th February: Sharp pain in chest on both sides was felt randomly for few seconds. Not only chest but similar sharp pains were also experienced in stomach. Both pains started on the same date.
14th February: My tongue started to dry. I had worst night after leaving smoking.
15th February: I went to doctor with specialization in chest examination. He asked me to go for chest X-RAY. I had chest X-RAY and doctor said that everything seems normal except my lungs have gone though possible inflation due to excessive forceful cough which kind of damaged my lungs and possibly stomach too. Doctor said there is no symptom of lung cancer at all. He gave me a tablet which is used as pain-killer as well as helps in fixing lungs inflation.
16th February: I took tablet and slept calmly. The ration of chest pain has decreased significantly and also stomach pains are very less now.
17th February: Called doctor again and he said it will take some time, probably a week more to cure my lungs.
