Coping, or NOT?

14 years ago 0 2778 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hey Pete!!!

Remember something...   remember how you felt when you started this thread!  That should give you the motivation you need to refuse to bring that next one to your lips!!!  Right?

The next time the demon starts yanking your chain, remember this feeling and ask yourself if smoking is really worth it!   You know it isn't!

When the demon starts to get those claws into you...  POST!!!!  Wait for those replies!!!   It really works, Pete!!!  Let us help next time!!!

You can do it...  You've got to constantly crave the freedom more than those nasty cancer sticks!!!  And live by the acronym... NOPE!!!  That's all there is to it, buddy!!!

       Welcome back and breath deep!!!

                     Jim

Nice to see you giving it another go, Peteg! Lots of us had to go through that love/hate relationship with the smokes. I  loved to smoke as well, but I had to learn to hate what it was doing to me and accept that I was addicted before I could really get it done.
Power to you! Keep the thought of how much you hate what they do to you the next time temptation strikes, it will help you be strong! You know you can do it!

Peteg,

Your courage and determination will get you past this slip. We are all behind you and the fact that you have re-committed to the cause is admirable.

Learn from the slip and devise other coping strategies that do not involve picking up a cigarette. Realize that smoking will not diminish or eliminate any stresses.

Post here as often as you need to and stay strong!

HI PETEG
I'm sorry you lost your quit. But I'm happy you are going to try again. This is a powerful addiction and we are addicts. The trick is never quit quitting. And I applaude your resolve to do it again. You have learnes that one puff doesn't exist. Some one posted a tought that resumes this.
"Cigarrettes  are like wolves, they travel in packs". There is not such thing as one cigarrette, or one puff. This is the mpost important lesson in our quits. I had succumbed to that tought before. And I learned the hard way.
So Peteg, grab your ice water.
Hugs
Marivi
