Okay Mary, you said in your other post that you made it through alcoholism, so did I. Quitting smoking is hard to do. Quitting drinking was a piece of cake compared to this, but it can be done. So you ask about smoking just one, well it works the same way with drinking, one is to many and a hundred is not enough. Maybe you think you can get by with one, but what happens is you do for a time and then you think well I had one a couple weeks ago and I am doing fine then you smoke another. Then your mind tells you it is okay to have one now and then and pretty soon the monster has you and are screaming "I NEED ONE AND I NEED IT NOW!!!" Now you are on your way to smoking again, with another quit in site and resetting the meter.
Mary, take a look at the tools to the left, work them. Read the posts, write out your reasons, get really honest with yourself. You have the answer and you know what you want to do. Believe in yourself. You will quit when you are sick and tired of being sick and tired. This quit is for you and only you. Never give up, it will happen when you least expect it.
Keep the Quit
