acne?

17 years ago 0 28 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
anyone get acne after quitting? My face is pretty normal, but I have broken out on my back and the back of my neck, and on my upper arms which is totally weird. I don't know if it is the quit, or the 65oz of water I drink every day and have been since i quit, or the exercise, or the health food....so many changes in life style I don't know what it is. maybe it is my whole body freaking out wondering where it's life went, or maybe it is some part of detoxing years of toxins???? If you are eating health food chances are you are also taking multivitamins. Double check to see if you are consuming kelp - it has a high concentration of iodine which is a known cause of acne... Pea Quite normal indeed. In fact my face went bursark. After about 2 months of using every kind of skin care regiment. I am now getting it under control. However my skin does glow now. In fact it looks better than it has in 15 years. So it gets better. About your other post. The PMS. For a few months it was rough but that has also gotten better. In fact that is also better thatn it has been in 15 years. And my teeth are whiter, I have more time and patience.....I'll stop, cuz I can go on & on & on. Good luck To you Grace My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 232 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,652 Amount Saved: $928 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 21 Mins: 9 Seconds: 2

Hey Pea - they say skin's supposed to glow, shine, etc. but mine has gone a bit bonkers too. I've even had a few spots in my ears. Methinks since I'm not coughing at ALL, the detox is spilling out my pores. Go figure! Anyhoo, it seems to be v. common. If you Google 'quit zits' you'll find loads of results! This can be normal! Your body is healing in many ways and it is detoxing. Continue on with water and give your body some rest. If this persists, then contact your doctor to rule out anything medical :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.

Pes, I would say th is is probably your body detoxing , which will take a while, but you should consult your doc, just to rule out anything else lynnexx My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/24/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 154 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,314 Amount Saved: 616 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 8 Mins: 34 Seconds: 8

I noticed it a little worse than usual too...had a big one on the back of my neck, then when it went away I got its twin on the other side of my neck. I've also got more across the shoulders and (gasp) backne!!! I'm in a wedding in less than 2 months...hope it clears up by then! Between that and the industrial strength undergarments I'll need so as not to test the seams of my dress (yup, put on a couple pounds, too), I'm a hot mess. Definitely not alone on the acne thing, but I never would have thought I could attribute it to quitting smoking! ~Nursey My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 43 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 651 Amount Saved: $193.5 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 2 Mins: 8 Seconds: 56

Pea, Started noticing a couple little bumps lately, nothing major, one on the nose, then one on the chin, you know! I look at your stats when you posted, and we're at about the same spot in the quit. I prefer to take it as a sign of healing...or else I am becoming a teenager again! LOL. Oops, I started smoking as a teenager...this time I won't smoke!
