Tryagain, I am having a morning like to described. I actually got up and went to the gym before work and fee great. Today is my 30th day. Last week I had some very hard days but over the weekend I noticed that I was not thinking as much about cigs as before and did not have any of those "out of body, lock me up experiences". Prior to this time my engery level was at an all time low. After 38 years of smoking I am very happy! I know the roller coaster goes up and down, but this bit of relieve is wonderful. It has made the last four weeks worth it. YESYESYESYESYESYESYES! I get them LOTS. Lots and lots and lots. And I have every intention of going right on having them. Comes from not conatntly worryin about my immenent death, how my kids will cope and whether or not that left leg IS going to have tp be amputated. Which is pretty much where my thoughts dwelt daily before I quit. lol. I am FREE of that. Love it. Aren't we blessed? To me it's kind of like the sunshine after the rain. I used to suffer from terrible depression a long time ago. Went on for years but my God, I couldn't BELIEVE how beautiful the planet was once it had lifted; couldn't be lieve how marvelous to get through a day without feeling the pain of a broken heart - actually feeling happiness. I think this might be the same. Freedom from fear, guilt, self-loathing, panic etc. Long may it continue - eh? HAHA! Been there...more than once or twice! Sooo....you're a roller coaster....so am I (or was) things seem to be getting more calmer....but there are still small hills and valleys.....and I imagine there always will be. Enjoy the highs and simply endure the lows. Remember NOPE, That will ALWAYS pull you through! Perhaps you are one of the 'blessed' quitters that don't experience all the angst that some of the others do. I hope your luck continues! **heavy sigh**a lot of us are envious. While mind-set has a lot to do with it, I believe that the grip of the addiction has a lot to do with it also. Length of time and amount of smoking, etc.... Tryagain, Of course they do! Quitting is not always doom & gloom, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Enjoy your period of euphoria. It's only the beginning. Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Are you kidding! On day 25, I was sitting here at 5:30 in the morning replying to Jan58's post under Right on Schedule almost ready to drop kick the whole quit. If it was not for my health being so very bad, I might have done it. I was shaking all over, I had cold chills and hot sweats. It was the worst day I ever had. Was that only three days ago? It seems like a lifetime. It hit me this morning. I feel like I am ready to run a marathon. The world is brighter, the air sweeter, everything is wonderful. I cannot imagine being sad that I don't smoke, the way I could not imagine being happy that I don't smoke. I literally bounced out of bed this morning without a single care or woe in the world. Discussions about withdrawal symptoms are pretty much limited to doom, gloom, crying, depression, anger and the whole negative side. I assume my feelings are just temporary, like any other withdrawal symptom it too will go away. But I have to ask, does anyone else have these kinds of feelings in addition to the bad feelings. I know that the long term quitters sometimes have craves long after they quit, it would be nice to know that sometimes the neurons synapse differently and you end up feeling as hugely out of proportion wonderful, as you sometimes feel hugely out of proportion bad.
