Hi Jan, I am a new quitter too! I will finish doing something and think I will just run outside for a smoke. Then I remind myself that I quit! It is strange. When I do really want to smoke I take really deep breaths, chew gum, drink water, even suckers are helping me. I had a good day today (day 6) hopefully it is uphill from here! Good luck to you. Good luck Jan, I've had incredible dreams as well, they almost make me tired when I wake up. I won't ask what happened, but from reading your posts, I now see this stays with us for a very, very long time. Congrats on jumping back on the horse. Marie

Yeah I know, it goes with the territory. Into my second day quit(boy I haven't seen that in a long time) and this irritating cough is just starting. Out to buy some cough drops today. Two days into my quit I'm keeping my guard up for this...You know the times - when you're not thinking about smoking - and you automatically reach for the pack and OMG! its not there. Its happened a couple of times, but I just take a deep breath, and in a few seconds, it passes. Wearing my patch and last night I dreamt that my next door neighbour stole my Christmas turkey!!!! Did someone say they were dreaming about Clint? You get Clint and I get a turkey!!!! have a good one, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 41 Amount Saved: $9 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 45 Seconds: 36

And good luck to you, Anna. Sounds like you're doing great. Our coping tools are like gold right now, and I make sure I've got every one of them at my disposal. Congrats on 6 smoke free days. You're nearly through the first week. You are doing so well. Take it easy and, as our good friend Marie always says...one day at a time! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 128 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,440 Amount Saved: $1024 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 15 Mins: 19 Seconds: 15

I still reach for that nonexistent pack. Especially when driving the car. Now i keep a baggie of sunflower seeds instead. a styrofoam cup is nearby for the hulls Gum and water also are nearby!
