Let's hear from the members! Yes, it does go away and it will dwindle. Try not to focus on it and use your activities to keep you busy. It has been such a big part of your life, that it will take time to go away and be forgotten. Use you support group to help guide you :) Josie, Support Specialist

While I was out of town and when I had time to think, I was wondering when do you stop thinking about smoking? I would lay in bed and the thoughts oh the thoughts. Then I would remind myself that I am a non-smoker and non-smokers don't think of smoking. So if they don't think of smoking what do they think about? So this is what I would do. I would think of something pleasant or a place that would be nice to be at. I would think about lots of things and when the smoking thoughts come I tell myself I am a non-smoker and try really hard to change the thoughts. But the thoughts are there and they are so annoying. This is the part of the quit I hate so much. It is like a big chain and ball that just won't go away. Just wanted to put my thoughts out there. How do you wonderful quitters handle the thoughts????? I know they are thoughts and not actions, but they are driving me nuts.
