The Magic Ship- Board Here!

What a relief, Faith, soooo glad your eyes are ok. I have my retinas checked every few years since I've had some early signs of wear and tear (prob another good reason to quit). Good work not running to cigs when the stress level rose! Going strong here, happy to report. Even dealt with a family holiday dinner and drinking wine which I was afraid would trigger a craving, but no problems. :) What scares me most is that I haven't really HAD any cravings yet this go round - and I'm worried that when one does hit, it's going to be very rough. :8o: But, I'm not going to dwell on it or I'll end up bringing a craving on - that's happened in the past. Just going to keep being positive and have lots of sucking candy and licorice around! I think it's time to play an inspirational, mellow song (hey it is 1am) which is a tribute to my shipmates and to all the wonderful, supportive people on this site. And, no, the light up part had better not make anyone think about anything that would make them have to walk the plank. If you're head's there ... time to refocus! "So many nights I'd sit by my window, waiting for someone to sing me his song. So many dreams I kept deep inside me, alone in the dark but now you've come along. You light up my life, you give me hope to carry on You light up my days and fill my nights with song Rolling at sea, adrift on the water, could it be finally I'm turning for home? Finally a chance to say, "hey I love you", never again to be all alone And you light up my life, you give me hope to carry on You light up my days and fill my nights with song It can't be wrong when it feels so right. Cause you, you light up my life." - Debby Boone *** Freemom, smiles at the thought of going to bed and hopefully having another cool Chantix dream. Mmmm - chocolate, daquiri's, a tropical island, shopping, chocolate, shopping, @$# (Censoring it myself to save the mods some work!) *** My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 61 Amount Saved: $20.4 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 13 Seconds: 50

Faith sighs a giant "whew" of relief! NO detached retina for me and hopefully the two tears in it have been sufficiently repaired and there will be no more. I'm breathing again with that good news! Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. It must have helped! Now, who's got the wine and chocolate? I am SO ready to just kick back on board my favorite ship (no smoking allowed, of course). Bring it on! Where are we headed next? KYGIRL: Welcome back to you, stranger! It is true, isn't it, that we are the sandwich generation? Often taking care of kids, grandkids AND our ailing parents. Both mine are gone now -- I lost Dad to Alzheimer's and cancer last January, so I know what you're going through. Dementia is a tough one to deal with -- so sad. You didn't say, so I assume your quit is about a non-issue for you any more. That's wonderful? Grab a glass of wine and come on over here and tell me all about what you've been up to. Thank you again, shipmates -- the "eye issue" scared me a lot when I lost the vision in one eye and the other was very fuzzy. I'm already hearing-impaired. This definitely got my attention. PLEASE everyone, get your eyes checked. Don't take chances. WE'RE ALL NON-SMOKERS!! Woo Hoooooooooo!!! What a bunch of WINNERS we all are! Love you all and keep the faith! Hi all glad to see everyone doing well. Have been very busy here and glad to be back on board for some down time. Proud to see everyone doing well. I have been very busy taking care of the parents . One has Alzheimers and the other had a stint placed in a vein in his heart. It's is so like they say, the children become the parents. I am so ready to go for a swim and sit on deck and eat chocolate and drink wine. Hubby did get to go fishing one day last week but the croppie wasn't to good at the lake. Well everyone have a great evening and hope to check in again tomorrow. Hi all - just taking an evening stroll on deck to look at the stars and breathe in the smoke-free sea air. Aaah that feels good! MomMom - glad you enjoyed your fishing trip and so glad you stayed strong - think about the new triggers you overcame! So glad you spared Bubba and all his little friends. ;p Faith - hope your eye is doing ok and you are feeling better. Let us know what the specialist says. We're here if you need us, we've got some chocolate and wine set aside for you when you return. Mr. M, Captain, glad you're having fun with that golf - has being smoke-free improved your game? Rainie - sounds like you are keeping busy and having some fun - glad to hear it. Nurse & Hubby - glad to see you back on-line AND smoke-free. That's terrific - remember now - there will be NO SMOKING in that new place! JT - Hope you enjoy your break from the computer! Maybe it will miss you and behave when you return from vacation. ;) Pat - Thanks for all the encouragement, I really appreciate it! I know work will be busy, but don't forget to treat yourself a bit whenever you can. You do get a discount, don't you? (Hmmm - could someone here be a shopaholic of the bargain-hunting variety!) Personally, I can often be found at Target since the only walmarts remotely near me are pretty pathetic! Must have something to do with the price of real estate in northern nj! Bummer. :( Lynne - what a day - sure hope you are getting past it. Good for you staying strong. How's your mom doing by the way? Lady - You can come and cruise with us anytime. We'll share our strength along with the wine and chocolate. (They're magic you know and don't make us gain weight no matter how much we have!) I hope I haven't forgotten anyone. But now I think it's time for some tunes... "Feeling better now that we're through Feeling better since I'm over you I learned my lesson, it left a scar now I know how you really are You're no good, you're no good, you're no good Baby you're no good I'm gonna say it again You're no good, you're no good, you're no good Baby you're no good" - Linda Ronstadt Take that cigarettes! Stay strong my shipmates! *** Freemom bops off, feeling strong, powerful and amazingly good. If she could borrow one of LadyCig

Hi everyone! Boy it's nice to be back on board (not that I haven't been on a boat for the last 4 days, more on that later). Lady, I sure glad you're feeling better! A little sun, fun, and maybe a little something refreshing to drink may be just what you need. Hope you are finding everything to your liking and having some fun with our group! We do know how to have fun! Faith, I am so glad your sister had a party for you! How cool is that? You deserve it, that's for sure. I hope you eye is feeling much better, I've heard that some eye problems are so painful...hope you are just relaxing on board (with some good sunglasses or maybe a patch that matches your bikini and boa???) and getting better! I've been behavin'. (sort of) Nursey, glad to see you are back! I've missed you! What do you mean about hooking a fish through the eye?? (sorry Faith, forget I said anything about that part of the anatomy) Glad hubby has you back online and that neither of you are smoking! By golly, I think we have a non-smoking family (almost)! Freemom, you are back where you belong...with us. If you even think about losing your motivation, just let us know, and we will find it for you quicker than you can say nico demon. LadyCigevictor, sounds like you kept the ship rockin' for the past few days. Did I miss a great party or what??? Save some of the 'quila for me! On second thought, I've seen enough worms lately... JT, glad to see you have put down the bat. Does hubby get nervous when you freak with a bat in your hand? Sweetheart calls me when his 'puter acts up, and I call Nurse29hubby. I know enough just to be dangerous. (what's a fios?) Captain, my captain, we passed so many golf courses. I swear I could hear a bluesy harmonica playin' at the 19th hole. Were you in VA this weekend? Stop workin' so hard and join us as much as you can! Lynne, sorry about your patient. I don't have the "patients" to deal with the medical stuff. I am more like Cristina on Grey's anatomy, if you know what I mean. You also work way too hard. Phil, was that you racin' up and down the lake doin' about 90 mph with that sweet lookin' lady beside you? Rainie, Rainie, Rainie, only you would take up Bubba's cause! (The glasses are VERY attractive.) LOL!

Hope your alergies clear up soon...it's a problem everywhere right now. Captain Mrmagic Sir, glad you're enjoying all the 18's without the rain spoiling your days...and not having to pay at the 19th is a real treat. I worked at a 19th a few years ago...you little white ball chasers can really let loose and have fun on that final hole. He he he, Rainie....THE DERBY better get ready for your attendance this year (you should email the cap'n for full details on best parking spaces and watering holes etc...sounds like he knows how to have the most fun there. Sheeshhh, 5 strange lapes in memory makes me wonder just what our good Capn's been keeping from us?) Rainie, you enjoy every second of your trip and take the camera so somebody can capture the highlights in case strange lapes in memory are common at the Derby! Lady....thanks to you a lot of us are glad to be smoke free! So c'mon, let's hear a rant, a rave, some choice words of wisdom or tell us a naughty (ah c'mon mods...an appropriate naughty) joke or story. Not in the mood to talk, ok...here's some bubbly and chocolate to nibble on while you sunbathe in your teeny weeny bikini (my you look so cute twistin by the pool!) Lynne...I'm sorry to hear about losing your patient, especially so very young...dealing with the rels can be difficult but I'm sure they appreciate all you do to help. You should be pleased about not thinking of lighting up during such a stressful day. Yippeeeee, isn't it nice to be breaking free??? Faith, hope your eye is healing now...please keep us posted sweetie. We'll pass out the chocolate and pour the wine until you're feeling all better. FreeMom, keep feeling strong!!!
