Daily exacerbations

Diva:
Thanks for the support!  I just did the program for the q's yesterday, so I'll start making use of that.  Walking/working out def. helps me too.  And yes!  Distraction and talking to someone I trust helps a lot!  I think those are my key helpers, but sometimes I try to deal so as not to overbear my loved one.  Not to say they wouldn't do it, but a part of me just feels the need to do it on my own.  This is probably my greatest push, and biggest setback, the need for self reliance.

Miki:
I think we all have a lil Irish in us ;oP.  I'm betting mine came from holding back, I was normally outgoing, but I let a situation hold me back and then dwelled.  Ok, maybe it wasn't holding back, but rather dwelling.  I'm not a dweller anymore!

i feel so alone

Welcome, Alexandria.  A lot of what you said hits home for me, the lack of reality, feels like your just sorting floating around your own existence, you came to the right place!  I've had both the logical, and illogical versions of the thoughts your having.  And feeling like I'm crazy, well I still feel like I'm crazy for going through what I'm going through.  I went from normal everyday life to this complete lack of a stability. Over time, I've come to understand and overcome it.

If you have no where else to feel safe, feel free to float with the rest of us here.  Post whenever you want, and feel free to give feedback on our posts as well.

Hello from New Zealand

Hi Casey,

Well, it sounds like you're already on the right path!  The program that they have here is a great one to start with, and can give you something to share with the therapist so they can understand your situation better.

Anytime you want to post your thoughts, feel free to stop by and let it go on this forum.  We may have answers, or we may just be a listening ear for you to talk into.  Either way, we like to support each other however way we can.

Cheers!

Fear of Listeriosis....

Hiya Diva,

I hear you about the Listeriosis thing.  My dad is one of the "bigwigs" over at the FDA (though you would never know it, he's a modest mouse kinda guy), so I hear about what goes on more often then not!

I hope you you don't mind my asking, but you have work and school after summer?  What are you going to school for?  And are you a teacher?  I know, I know, enough with the 20 questions!  Sorry, curiosity got the better of me.

Anyways, hope you're feeling better now!

Cheers

Self harm

I'm not one for self-harm, but then the avoidance behavior I sometimes show isn't exactly self help, so in that sense I guess I do practice self harm from time to time.   The more I explore my whole mindset though, the more I realize I need some time to myself.  Some time to decompress from the day.  Of course this works different from physical harm, but maybe it's a way of saying you need time to decompress...

interview today!!!

Sounds like more formalities.  But man, you get to wear jeans?  I'm jealous.  They took away our casual fridays, I think they saw smiles on our faces or something... :o(

Lump in throat! HELP!

Miki:  maybe you don't need to unlearn it, just refine it.  It wouldn't be good if you went out the door with no pants on!  An extreme example, I know,  but really...maybe just decide what you think is important and check that?  Then write the rest on a piece of toilet paper, throw it in the toilet and flush it away.  Consider it a goodbye to the things that you don't want.

A bit discouraged at the moment...

Like you told me, there will be days where nothing will work and that's ok.  I gotta say, seeing you going to school and dealing with it makes me want to try harder to go back to school.  I start up in January!

I agree with what everyone else says, relax for the rest of the day.  Grab Mr. Bubbles and have yourself a warm bath.  After how much you've progressed so far, you deserve it!
