Hi ND,

Good plan on putting some distance between you and alcohol. After the three month mark you may so enjoy your life being AF you may never look back. Remember to shout long and hard should you feel AV is trying to run things. You are doing great ND, keep going!

Hi Ashley,

Yes, I think you have a good idea. I'm having a good week and it's feeling easier every day.  I don't want to kid myself though, it's easy to get that false sense of security and then fall. I know.

Thanks Ashley!

Great idea getting the stuff out of the house - that should help.

Moderation may be a good goal for you. Some people who moderate find it easier once they first go through a period of abstinence. Usually this period is about 3 months and then they reassess. What do you think about a 3 month abstinence?

Hi Ashley,

He would tell you he's on board but doesn't want to be controling.  He wants me to be able to moderate and not jump off the cliff.  My plan is that I'll will not be drinking home alone, drinking at home at all anymore for that matter. I took it out of our house and wrapped and stored the wine glasses.  I feel like it doesn't have a place in my house.  I would like to be able to moderate in a social situation and that's my plan.  To make it a 2 drink max and to tell him that's what I'm going to try as well. So, don't offer to buy me one, don't offer to get a bottle.  That's my plan anyway.  I may be kidding myself.  Felt great to get all the stuff out of the house though.  Just the glasses in the cabinet can be a subtle trigger.

Nice work!

How do you think you are going to get him on board with this goal? What can be tricky so I would be interested in hearing your plan.

Hi! I did great Friday and then had some wine Saturday night with my husband at dinner.  I'm disappointed in that but, it wasnot a binge and no hangover so I'm positive on that point.  I haven't had any urges or anything to drink since our date saturday night.  I need to get him more on board with me on this whole journey.  But, overall I'm feeling pretty positive and feeling really strong. No time or room for urges or slips this week.  Full time Mom/holiday/family week so that's GREAT for some momentum!

Thanks guys for the encouraging words! I'm feeling strong. Not a single urge. Had an awsome night with family last night and looking forward to doing some holiday prep today.  I thought I would be a mess today but have surprised myself and I'm not! Yay! Feel good about an AF week and looking forward to the weekend. I can do it!
