Now this alone is a great motivator for quitting, better skin. I remember this summer catching a glance at my face in the side-view mirror of my husbands' truck, and I did not like what I saw, didn't recognize myself.
I live in a very dry climate, high altitude, and already have dry skin, so I will welcome this positive reward.
My first week as a non-smoker, I will NEVER have that first cigarette again, it was such a colossal disaster last time, 20 years ago.

The first week I actually felt like my skin got worse.  I started breaking out and was not a happy camper.  I like to think that my skin was detoxifying itself....

But, now my skin looks and feels great.  This is probably a combination of quitting smoking and drinking alot more water.

Actually Ashley I have (try to say that 3 times fast, lol),

But not just me, I posted in another forum somewhere, that a co-worker told me my complextion was looking healthier. She had noticed even before I had.

But not just looking healthy, I can feel the difference also, seems smoother and a lot less dryed out, which will be a good thing this time of the year.

Members,

November is Healthy Skin Month!  As we all know smoking is bad for your skin.  Here are the reasons why:

•    Smoking is a diuretic, it causes the skin’s surface to dry
•    The toxins in nicotine effect the skin’s healing process
•    It reduces Vitamin A levels in the skin
•    Smoking restricts blood vessels and can prevent oxygen and nutrients from getting to the skin. This can age and wear the skin faster

Members, since you have quit smoking have you noticed any differences in your skin?

Ashley, Health Educator
