This guy was a strong man, a manual worker who played the very physical game of rugby earlier in life. He was a good friend for many years. He smoked 60-a-day and would not quit even to the point of being wheeled out of the hospital to have a smoke when the end was near.
They got him finally and he died alone in his sleep in the hospital early Sunday morning, a shadow of the man I once knew. He was just 60 years old.
