Welcome Lynda,

Congrats on getting started. I am sorry to hear about COPD - I hope quitting helps as well. Please keep us updated on how you are doing.

Hi Lynda
I used to be addicted to weed among other things and giving up was the best thing l ever did. It wasnt easy, l was depressed for a while but it was definitely worth it. Just know that its all about time....giving yourself the time to heal. Take it one day at a time, let the days add up and it gets easier. Its a habit and changing habits is uncomfortable at first but not impossible. Read as much as you can about addiction and quitting and get on forums like this one. Best wishes!

Hi Lynda,
Welcome to the Stop Smoking Center website. Since you have planned on quitting next week, I'd suggest going through the "my program" program at the top of the page, and then read through these forums. There is a lot of great hints, tips and advice to help you on your quit journey. The more you know about what to expect and how to deal with it, the easier it "should" be for you to quit. Sorry to hear about the COPD, it happens sometimes. Quitting smoking won't make it go away, but it will help you out in the long run. It "might" actually help relieve some of the symptoms, but it's hard to say for sure. I wish you the best on your quit journey.
Stay strong and keep us posted on your progress.
