Hi Traback, keeping a diary is a great way to know yourself with regards to smoking, it'll help you in those weak moments and also when you conveniently "forget" why you wanted to stop (that's the nicodemon in your head playing with your thoughts). It's helpful to jot down how you feel when you start your quit too because when things start to subside a little you can look back and think"thank goodness I never have to go through that again", and you won't have to because you'll be a non-smoker!!! Good luck, I'll be thinking about you.
Great decision, Traback! Also, good thing to prepare, get your tools ready. What are some of the things you plan to do differently in the beginning? Please plan your quit so that you can pamper yourself as much as possible through the early days- baths, showers, sleep, no heavy pressure situations, long walks, massages, good books, movies, nice people around you. Any or all of the above will help. There's a thread on here called "Ask for help, put it in writing" that offers a good way to ask those close to us to understand and support us.
Welcome and know that our support is unconditional! Post often and really get prepared. Starting the diary is very helpful as it can pinpoint triggers and crave times.
Start the program and motivate yourself to get on the right path to success!
Just located this site and found the information to be extremely helpful. I have not selected a quit date but I have started the diary and once I have a pattern I am going to select a quit date. It will be really soon. I have sarted to use some of the techniques all ready. I am going to do this, first for myself and for my family. Any support and help would be greatly appreciated.
