It is hard at first, there's no doubt about it. It really does get easier though - I promise. Honest!
Of course, saying it will get easier doesn't neccessarily help you RIGHT NOW, I know.
Others have given great advice and I want to reinforce it. PLAN for having cravings. Have something handy. For myself, I used Starburst. They really helped me a lot. It was something to chew on and the flavor was strong enough to really help even things out.
The other big help for me was my mindset. I wasn't [i]trying[/i] to quit, I [b]quit[/b]. Reading lots and lots of messages here also helped reinforce my mindset. Hearing everyone else struggles and successes really inspired me.
I also kept a copy of the 'Junkie Thinking' thread right in front of me all day. It helped remind me what I was going through. It really hit home for me. You can read it here:
