Thank you all for your support.I have alot to be thankfull for. I got real sick last year with a nasty cold, just couldn't shake it.Well I finally went to the emergency room and they took a chest xray.Doc said I must quit smoking-I showed signs at the bottom of my lungs for cancer. They looked like little circles with a spider vein thing coming out.It was scarey--took me a few tries over this past year-and now I hope I can be successful-and stay smoke free! I was listening to the Martha Stewart Channel on Sirius Radio, the great american smokeoff?A Dr was on and he said that one patch is enough nicotine if you smoke one pack a day.Well I smoked 2,so I gave it a shot!!No overdose, just found it quite $$$,so after the worse of it passed I went to one patch.

hello people,I quit smoking 9 days ago.I am using generic nicotine patches. The first few days I used 2-21mg patches.I smoked around 2 packs a day.I have been smoking for 26 years.I just thought I would introduce myself here as I am new to the site.I have never made it 9 days without a cig!

Well done meanie! Nine days! Hell week is over! The patches still can't be as expensive as sickarettes, are they? I wouldn't worry about doubling up. If you were smoking two packs a day, two patches shouldn't phase you. My doctor actually recommended using nicorette gum on top of the patch for bad craves (after supper, drinking). Whatever gets you through it. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 59 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,798 Amount Saved: $486.75 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 18 Mins: 30 Seconds: 27
