Congrats on your 70 days, Denise! I'm looking forward to those craves becoming less, too. Your post gives me hope. :)Pat. I really am jazzed about this whole quit. Something about my attitude is changed and it's because of all of you, and this site, and the extensive preparation I did before hand. I love all of you and thank all of you for responding, it's something I've come to look forward to. And RiverdaleMan, I'm honored you would "spend" your one post celebrating with me. Well, I have come to believe... I think that's step 2, and it's progress, not perfection. I'm full of slogans today, but although the craves still do stop by, they are not nearly as overwhelming and they don't come as often, either. The other day I told my husband, hey, I've been awake for 2 hours and just now is the first time I thought of a smoke. Now that's DIFFERENT! Used to have smokes and lighter in hand before my eyes were open... It is most assuredly worth the work to get to this point. I can only imagine how much better it will get. Good days and bad alike, smoking never ever helped the situation any. And I've been smoking for 40 some years, so I do know it never helped. Only fed the addiction. And thank you to all who helped me get here. I know there will be bad days too, but today is great and that's what I have before me, today. So Happy Merry Fantabulous Holiday Day, D E N I S E PS does anyone know if Dee is still around? We have the same quit date, so of course my nose is in her beeswax.... My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 70 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,119 Amount Saved: $525 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 5 Mins: 50 Seconds: 44

Congrats on 10 weeks Denise! I love the pic - Is that one of your relatives that were visiting for Christmas? Doesn't it feel great when we suddenly "remember" that we "forgot" to think about smoking! Congrats on you 10 weeks smoke-free, Denise. Well done! :) I do agree with you. The withdrawal problem exists for a long time. Even myself, after 4 months, I still have have moments of physical discomfort ... but they're more and more manageable.
