So glad to see you hanging in there...Do try to begin exercising if you can, I know that when problems come it is difficult to retain our motivation toward cessation, but ironically that is the the time when we must return to the basics. You are important in all of this. It;s ok to value yourself. You are not the problems, but you can be the solution.

There have been times when I too felt the world crashing in on me. And those times will come again and again. In those moments, when panic seems the best option, I try to remember that a great deal of what I am feeling is magnified by my physical and mental state. If I can find the strength to optimize that which I have (which is that which I am), the problems can be handled. Solutions are never perfect, but if we learn to view the problems from a position of strength, they will not send us off screaming into the night.

This is a one at a time process...One moment, one hour, one day...If you do this thing, you may just find that the confidence you gain will lead you forward in dealing with all of the other problems that you face. Mind you know, I am not minimizing your situation. I do not know the details, but I can see that your very distressed. I do hope in some way that managing this process to a successful outcome will give you the strength to take on each of the other problems with a good heart...

Thanks for the support, I was in a bad space for a while and not quite out of the woods yet, but Im working on it. The recent past has been the most chalenging time I have ever had to face in many ways and I threw quiting smoking in to the mix, but the reason I chose to do it was to help me combat the issues I have been challenged with. I expected too much too soon. Another thing I am learning through all this is patience. Brenda's suggestion of 12 step programs hits right on the head of the nail. This is an addiction, as bad if not worse as any others. But its so self motivated to seek out help and quit, more so than other things. Smoking may be harmful to your health and can possibly kill you and cost a lot of money, but the short term devastation isnt there as with other substances and you don't get in to trouble smoking. We wont see someone in the group sent here by a judge! There is no driving while smoking laws. So , sometimes their isn't that push to quit. Make sense?

Any way thanks for putting up with me, like I said its been a real struggle. I posted a picture of my kids on friends of SSC if anyone wants to see it.

Wow Lance. We're extremely strong. I'm happy to hear about your changes. A change in meds can go a long way. I'm looking forward to a change next week. A future.
