There will come a time when after much fighting and even more riding out craves that you will turn around to see an accumulation of smoke-free time under your belt and you will mentally breath easier. You may never be completely out of the woods, but you may come to a point of experiencing days, weeks, months or years w/o even thinking about it, much less craving it. You are building your strength right now. And, it looks really good on you. Paul, Cool, same quit date. My cravings are less than they were on week one, but I understand why you are asking. Only thing I can add is that each day/week is getting easier. I am looking forward to that first day that I don't even think about a smoke... Bart

Hi Paul Changing is right, it does get better. There may still be some bad days, but the good days out weight the bad days and they get much more manageable. Keep up the good work. Paul - Congratulations on your quit - three weeks and counting - that's great! For me, the constant thinking about smoking and frequent cravings finally went away, somewhere around the 3rd or 4th week. Now, I still think about smoking - but it's just a thought not a craving, and it happens maybe 2x/day. I would say I only have real cravings around once or twice a week. While it still feels like a daily struggle/challenge, it feels totally manageable & possible. The bottom line = It does get soooooo much better!!! Trust me - I doubted this myself a lot in the first month - and it feels great to finally be able to say that "Yes, the cravings fade and it gets much much much much better". So hang in there.
