Congratulations on 60 days of smoke-free living. You're doing great. Don't beat yourself up about the weight gain. I alredy have weight to lose before I decided to quit. Kind of a double wammy! One of the things I did was to join an online program where you record what you eat everyday based on a calorie intake they set for you to lose weight. They have an enormous database of food so it's really easy to plug in your food. I lost 3 lbs. the 1st week I quit smoking. It also gives me something to do with myself when I would normally be smoking. It is a very cool website and allows you to track important health stats like sodium intake, blood pressure, measurements, nutrients and mineral intake, etc. They want you to exercise at least 30 minutes a day too which you record. Check it out. I went to the Wellness Center at work today. Well, it was worse then I thought. I have gained weight. I am sure their scale was wrong because there is a 10 pound difference from home. I need to get with the program. I did walk 2 miles tonight, first time in a long time. I did not sit in front of the TV. Bonnie, the dog ,went for a mile as well as Star, the dog, went for next mile. I think Bonnie really loves the walk. Star wanted to look around and visit with all the other dogs that were out taking walks. Tomorrow I celebrate 60 days not smoking. Yea for me. I am so proud of me. When I quit smoking I already needed to loose a bunch of weight. My doc said if I could only do 1 to quit smoking. I quit. Now I am working on loosing the weight. It is all about being the best me I can be. I could have never done the walking if I had not quit smoking. I was doing good to make the corner now I walk over a mile a day. I started strenght training acout 2 months ago. That for me has been harder to just remember to do, don't ask me why. When you are ready to loose weight, just start a new journey. Neither journey was easy, but both are worthwhile. Congratulations on quitting and loosing.
