My goal is to walk 2.5 miles a day next week. T. I've been cycling these last few days. It is good exercise and I can do it with my kids. They enjoy it. I have a trailer I pull behind my bike to put my 2 yr old in. Congrats TXsT! I'm a little jealous. I gained 7lbs. Lost 7lbs. Then gained back 3lbs. I started walking last week. Walked 3.5 miles 3 times last week. After my first walk I thought I was going to die! My legs hurt and my back hurt. I couldn't believe how out of shape I really am :( This week I've done my walk twice. I plan to walk 3-5 days a week. I need good habits to replace my bad habits :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/3/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 93 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,122 Amount Saved: $279 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 20 Mins: 56 Seconds: 25

Hey All ~ Great thread! Cybrduke way to exercise with those chickens ~ Maybe your weight is turning into muscle, which weighs more than fat. I'm hoping that's the case w/ me and my newly found 5 pounds. Being on the treadmill can get a little redundant. I'm with Breaking Free, for my 60 day reward I got an IPod and now don't know how I commuted, exercised and walked without it. I am up to 2 1/2 miles on the treadmill which faces the TV. Too bad my husband watches the History Channel, (Gack!) So I need the music to keep me awake. TXst - great job on the weight loss and the 35 days, that's an accomplishment. It's like trying to tie your shoes while you're walking for me!!!! Great job!!! YAY!! I am a walker and I walk at each break at work... I take a lot of breaks at work yes, but it is just the way it is... sooo I walk wlak walk! I take one long one, down the harbor about 5 mins from my building :) gotta use the perks that come with the nasty travel into town here! I also walk at home with my 12 yr old whenever I can, that is about 45 mins. But heck if I can't lose weight. It just keeps me even, but hey lets get the smoking thing down first I say! Walk on!~ My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 85 Amount Saved: $15 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 13 Seconds: 1

Wow! 2 miles, soon to be 2.5, a DAY!! That's great, T. Congratulations on losing 7 lbs. I quit at 226, went up over the next 6 months to 254. Now I'm at 227, so I can say I only put on 1 lb! :p Cyberduke, you have chickens. I'm jealous. All I have to watch on the treadmill is TV, usually not that great. Hey - I got those seven pounds right here if you're looking for them! I tried the treadmill the other day - I did 2 miles the other day on my treadmill! I look out the window and watch my chickens chase bugs while I walk. What fun! I'll join you in walkin TXsT. I'll shoot for 2.5 a day next week and keep you posted. We can buddy up and maybe you can help me get rid of some of the weight I put on when I quit. I was 220 pounds, now I'm about 250. Doctor said not to worry he'd rather see me heavy than smoking, he also said the weight would come of within 6 to 8 months as my body normalizes without nicotine. I think I'm ready to start that process. Keep it up T. Good job.
