rewards

Use the extra time you now have as a reward in itself and play catch-up. Doing all you mean to do but never seem to have the time. Like: Browsing through the your old photos in the shoe box or.....watching videos of your past vacations you camcorded .........finally stoping at that new candle or craft shop in town ........trying out the new subshop and taking the sub to a park bench ......playing oldie but goodies music and relishing in old memories ....spending a couple of hours at the museum.... sitting in a lawn chair at a free concert in the park.....stoping at the zoo... SOOOO MANY THINGS that make you feel connected in a time we tend to feel a little disconnected. It helps emensely and makes you feel special and puts a positive edge on quiting. My daily reward is setting aside a block of time just for ME ! In that time whether it's an hour or two to do all pleasurable things in my quiet alone time - Long hot shower followed by immersing myself with lotions, making myself a few snacks then off to watch a movie or read a book, play a game - crosswords or Sudoku, make a bunch of calls to friends etc. It's all just for me.. it's always a very relaxing time, a time to come down and to celebrate my accomplishment of not smoking ! xo My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 140 Amount Saved: $50.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 7 Seconds: 16

Hi, So far my only daily reward is knowing that I can be proud of myself for not giving in and smoking today. For me that is enough right now. My reward is a coffee from starbucks. I usually would think that its wasteful but..2$ a day on a coffee is WAY cheaper than the $5 I used to spend on cigarettes. Plus I get to enjoy the walk going there. I've also rewarded myself with delicious out of season fruits that I wouldn't normally spend so much money on. Like rasberries, cherries, and black berries. They are so yummy..and I LOVE nibbling on them throughout the evening. Frequent walks throughout the day at work. Making myself SLOW down and forget about work (like I used to do when I smoked) the REALLY good eclipse gum, and altoids the little things make it a lot easier... Best of luck to you!!!! WooHoo Cindy! I just LOVE rewards! A wonderful smelling bubble bath. A walk at the park or around the block. Watch a movie that you really like (with a special snack...popcorn?) Using nice smelling scented lotions. A special hard candy that you like a lot. Special drink (I like the Strawberry Limeade drinks from Sonic). Just a few to get you started. There's a thread that I'll try to bump for you that lists tons of low cost rewards. You're doing great! I'll see if I can find the post "Free and cheap rewards" in the General forum... it has some great suggestions for low cost daily rewards. Some ones that I can think of just off the top of my head are renting movies and having a nice relaxing evening in; bubble baths; getting a plant (for those with a green thumb... mine's definitely NOT!); or arts and crafts... my all-time favorite reward that I ever gave myself was my 1 year N.O.P.E. necklace that I made for myself... cost about $3.00 in supplies and I absolutely cherish it because it represents me and my quit! Other ideas could be getting take-out or delivery so you don't have to cook or do dishes; or spending time with a friend just relaxing. Anything can be a reward - as long as it's something that you will like and enjoy or that you will take pride in or look forward to doing. Again, I'll see if I can bump that post... it's got a lot more great ideas for you! Rewards really are extremely important! Don't ever forget them! Crave the Quit! I am trying to come up with little daily rewards. I can't really think of any. What is everyone else doing as daily rewards?
