Yesterday was a very stressful day. I had a lot of work didn't get done until after 9 pm. Everything got on my nerves. This has happened before. I get an out of control dog, my husband just has to do something else when I need his help the most. Things break, I couldn't find a sharp blade. It happens, and it happens more than seldom. Since I quit smoking, these were my worst triggers. These were the times I would "take five" run outside and have a smoke. These were my hardest triggers to face. Yesterday, despite that it was one of my more difficult days, the trigger didn't trigger. I never thought of having a cig until this morning when it dawned on me that I didn't want a cig all day! I faced that trigger so often, that it stopped working.
when I can face no cig in the morning, or after dinner, I'll know I'm truly, truly free. Even now though, that trigger is lessening all the time.
