Dear Deb:

Congratulations to you.  Just the other day while buried deep in an SQL data base and a stack of problems, I had the damdest urge for a smoke and though I have been quit going on 5 years now I really had to fight off that urge.  In my day to day life I never think about smoking and I really enjoy the freedom.  Hang in there girl every day you get stronger and soon on you too will not think about smoking.

Kindest regards

Duffis

Thanks you guys!  I can relate Bug and I bet a lot of other people can too.

80 days :)  This is the furthest I've come.

At work last night, one of the girls in my parenting group announced that she has been smoke free for 7 days.  The entire group of parents stood up and applauded her.  3 others had quit before her, including me.  It seems like each of our quits there is affecting other people and that is so cool to see.  Quitting is contagious!

Thanks for the A+++ Rock!  For the geek who loved to get grades in school, I was thrilled :)  And hi Jazz!  You are racking up some good mileage and closing in on two years.  That's amazing.  And welcome Miss Cristinas!  You will get there.  You have the right attitude-- don't try that at home :)  It was stupid of me and could have ruined everything I've worked so hard for.  How is your quit going??  Hi beautiful Bee, glad to see that you are back!  And no-- never again.  What is it about addiction that makes us so retarded!?  It's a bit mind-boggling.

Nice to begin my day with such wonderful people.

Welcome back deb, glad to see you kept quit.  I had something similar last night.. stared at an ashtray for like 5 minutes last night.  Realized that I quit, and went to bed.  Hopefully those newfound cravings go away.  Glad to hear you are doing well!

cvdeb,

Do you know how strong you are??? I wouldn't play with the fire like this ever. I don't trust myself enough to think that I wouldn't - at least - get a puff. Wow!

Great job in staying quit. One day I'll get there too.

cvdeb,

To see that you've received a gift, go to your profile by clicking on your avatar which appears on the banner of the support group home page, or if you've posted in the forums you can click on "view profile". Once you are on your profile you will be able to see how many gifts you've received, you can then click on "view" to view the gifts you've received. Hopefully this helps! Those gifts are a great motivator and quite fun to send and receive!

Hey Deb
The good thing is that you didn't smoke it. So now you know that you will never do that kind of thing again!
You should be proud, almost three months!
Hugs
Marivi

Dave and Rock!  I just realized that you both have sent me a gift!  (Mod's, how do we know we were sent gifts???)  Thank you both so much.  Just having you both around is the hugest gift you can give.  But I have to admit that it was a nice surprise finding them!  There needs to be some kind of alert or something for those things.  I just sent one off to you too Moss in case you miss it like I did.
