You have some excellent advice and insight from members here and your frame of mind does make a difference in your ability to focus on keeping the quit.
Also, as Bonnie said, it may be a good idea to set your quit date based on your menstrual cycle. Recent research has found that setting your quit date within the first fourteen days of your cycle may significantly diminish the severity of your withdrawals symptoms as they will not be compounded by premenstrual syndrome.
Keep posting and remember we are here to support you.
Hi I C L , I have been thinking of you also. When you are in the la la land.. it's not really a good time to try. Maybe afte your exams are done. Like others said I think you have to want to quit.
If you are anxious about it, you could speak with your Dr and see if he recommends something for awhile.
Are there any "quit smoking " groups in your school or area?
I think I started this quit ( My final quit) with not a lot of confidence I would make it, but I found this site.. and made friends and watched my meter climb.... and then it was.. wow I don't want to lose these frineds, and I really don;t want to set that meter to zero..... so it became a challenge.. and a place to meet friends. I can whine, vent, be happy or sad.. and someone understands...
I am glad you are stll wanting to quit.
did you get "Allen Carr's Easy Way To Quit Smoking" ? I also heard he has written one for Women also. Also I read it someplace about don't start a quit at the beginning of a "cycle" with PMS and high hormones.

Your chosen name says it all doesn't it? You quit for a reason. You'll get your head straight, remember the reason, and you'll get the job done. Kelly is so right, it's a mindset.
I have no question in my mind that you'll eventually succeed in staying quit for the long haul. I bet you know it in your heart as well.
I hope you do well on your exams, and I wish you the best on your quit.
GOOD LUCK!

Like Kelly said, you have to be in the mind set that you can, and want to quit. The decision is yours, and you have to want to want it. I understand that you are going through a stressful times, exams are not fun. Do you think you will be ready to begin your quit again once they are over? You have remained quit for 60 days, so you know you can do it, you just have to want it.
Don't beat yourself up!! Forget the fight for now. Get the exams out of the way, take some time after the exams are finished to re-focus and then decide if you really want to quit or not. The answer to that question will dictate your next move.
There's a longtime saying -- you have to want to quit more than you want to smoke. I think that's true. As long as you don't care, you won't quit. Somehow you have to find that place deep down inside that is strong enough to overcome the junkie thinking. When you do, you'll succeed. I know you'll get there...good luck!

ICL, I have been thinking about you for the past few days, I wondered what happened to you. You need to get you mind set that you do care about quitting before you can do this. I know what you are talking about, I have been there before as I am sure many have. Something pulls you back, is it anxiety or depression? I had to get meds for it this time to make sure I didn't lose the quit. I knew from previous attempts what would get me and had to be prepared for it. I wasn't as prepared as I thought, but thank goodness there were people here to get me going in the right direction. I feel for you, I know you want to quit but the damn addiction pulls at you, it still pulls at me at times. I have to tell it to take a hike, and it does. I had to fight to get here though. You are a strong and beautiful person, you will get there too, I have no doubt. I am so happy you came and posted, smoking or not you are part of this group. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you get going again. Best wishes to you Paula.
