Deb, First - I love that chocolate is your hobby! Eating it or making it? Either way that's fantastic ;) Welcome to Day 4 and more than 1/2 way to your first week! I think we've all done some desparate, gross stuff as smokers. Just another reason to stay quit. I threw my last few cigarettes away at my local grocery store because I knew that I wouldn't go searching for them in public. Sad. You're doing great and you can bet you are helping others by posting just as you are helping yourself. CV, great story! post away, what ever works!! It really helped me at first to read here, I read this board for hours and hours. I was actually afraid of going through the garbage when we quit, so John actually drowned our cigs. Please feel free to babble away. As often as you need to. And actually, for someone who is in the midst of Day 3 hell, you're actually putting your words together quite well! :) Thinking about pulling a butt out of the garbage probably won't shock any of us at all. At least it was your own garbage!! Thankfully, there aren't any cigarettes around the house my house anymore, but I have been running into lighters in jeans, coats, purses...it's been funny to find so many around. I also slept quite a bit at first and generally felt like a zombie. And when I wasn't sleeping or at school, I was here reading everything I could. I would highly recommend it -- other people's stories are informative and inspiring. Welcome, and keep posting. Hi! Day 3 has been the most difficult by far. I'm hanging in there but am sleeping endlessly and having much stronger cravings today. It almost feels like I have some kind of bug, but I'm pretty sure it's just withdrawals. So, I took the garbage out today, and when I took the lid off of the can............. there was a cigerette staring me in the face on the top of the pile. The sight stopped me in my tracks, and I actually contemplated rescuing the foul stick, picking the dirt off of it, and smoking it. How disgusting is that? And what a powerful addiction. The craving was overwhelming. Good news: I didn't succumb to being crowned the new "Grossest Girl in America"-- the cigerette remains in the garbage. The bad news: none :) Writing sure does help distract me. I hope you all don't mind me babbling away. I figure even if no one responds, I'm doing myself some good.... and I'm enjoying reading other people's posts. I've read all through the program and it's very good..... better than I've found anywhere else. xo for the support My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/6/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 48 Amount Saved: $14.04 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 39 Seconds: 40
