excellent thread Mercy :)
I smoked for 25 years, loved it, didn't want to quit. DH did a retirement analysis which said if he continued smoking he would be dead at 65, so he had plenty of money to retire now, but if he quit he would live to 85. I didn't want to keep smoking while he was trying to quit, or so I told myself, so I rushed out to get some Chantix too.
Smoking while on that stuff is vile, but we did for a week, we didn't know we were going cold turkey! We went through some emotions lemme tell ya, oh you probably already know. My Mum was visiting during this time, poor Mum, and we were on vacation during this time too, it was an unplanned quit.
but it has gone very well, I have to say Chantix is a miracle for us.
Tonight we went out for sushi at Kanki, we always used to smoke, drink and eat in the bar and as we walked up I was apprehensive about that, sitting there you know and said as much to DH, turns out whole restaurant is non-smoking now :) We ate the sushi bar, it was great.
I thank God, my family, friends and everyone here who helped me do this.
Sue
