Starting Over

Well, my original quit day came and then I started smoking again. The good news is, I am ready today to be done! I feel even more determined this time around. I am doing this cold turkey, and am just looking at it in very short term increments, such as, I tell myself, "I can make it through the next hour." When that hour is over, I tell myseld since I just made it through the last hour, I can make it through another. It's helpful to not worry about every single situation I might come across where I'll have a trigger to smoke. Well, I just wanted to update everyone. I find that I need to stay busy to keep my major withdrawal symptoms under control. So, I'm off to vaccum, clean out the fridge and do more laundry! Woo Hoo!! FreshAIr - way to get back on the here and start a new journey. Stay busy and when you have all your chores done come on over to my house and I have some busy work that needs to be done. You have to do this in small little baby steps, remember when we first started the addiction. We would start out with one maybe every now and then, then it was only in social situations. then it was for emotional reason. then it was just about every 15 minutes just because the addiction had taken over our minds and bodies. So start quitting in small steps one day at a time. You can do this! No kidding, I have alot of house work I would love to have done. I can give you directions if you need/ And Phil's back is hurt so I am sure he could use some help around the house. ha/ha My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/15/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,129 Amount Saved: $222 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 23 Mins: 39 Seconds: 46

Freshair, I'm afraid it is what it is and baby steps is how we get started. You do have leaps and bounds to look forwared to. Stay quit, distract and time heals, just don't smoke.
