After a while, you learn the subtle difference Between holding a hand and chaining a soul, And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning And company doesn't mean security, And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts. And presents aren't promises, And you begin to accept your defeats With the grace of God, not the grief of a child, And you learn to build all your roads on today Because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans, And futures have a way of falling down in mid-flight And after a while you learn That even sunshine burns if you get too much. So you plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, Instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure ... That you really are strong And you really do have worth And you learn and learn ... And with every goodbye, you learn.
So sorry for your loss Lady. Much Love, Free My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 228 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,861 Amount Saved: $912 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 5 Mins: 49 Seconds: 45

Oh gf, I am so here for you. I have missed you something terrible because you were the first person here on SSC to reach out to me and actually hold my hand while going though my quit. THANKS As for loosing a "son", I can't say I know what you are going through. I lost my brother when he was 20 years old (my baby brother) and it was Dec 7th when he was killed by a drunk driver. That was years ago. Guess what, the pain is still here. Fortunately, this year I am working through the pain since I always smoked to deal with it. Hugs and we will see you through it.
