Bump.
Learn as well to be gentle and care for yourself. As smokers we were pretty harsh with out bodies and with our mind. We administered a mind altering and body breaking drug every few minutes and many times a day. Time will heal and please, please, please be patient, gentle and caring with yourself and your quit. You are a great quitter and you are doing an amazing job.
WOW heres to life and the amazing job there is in quitting!
I do not respond well to demands by others and I do not respond well when I am demanding, harsh and impatient with myself.
Tell you what, that about says it all. Thanks for the bump Riverdale. I think we all need to remember to be patient and caring with ourselves. Sometimes it is easy to forget this as the days go on. Thanks, Riverdale. The other day, I also expressed similar ideas: be patient and be kind to ourselves during our quit. Your post is much clearer! :) Yeah, friends, please be patient! You cannot kick that smoking habit of X years (35 years, in my case) in just few days or few weeks .... It would take months to overcome that nasty nicodemon! One day at a time, One day at a time, One day at a time, ... :) Cheers, nmc (a fifth time quitter) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 78 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 788 Amount Saved: $390 Life Gained: Days: 14 Hrs: 15 Mins: 26 Seconds: 46

Wow Phillip, This thread really hit home today. What you say is true. Be patient with yourself. I have not been. I demand much of myself and when I can't deliver, I feel that in a certain way, I have failed. Not when it come to quitting. But in other areas. I have to remember that quitting affects every aspect of my life, and even at 34 days smoke free I need to be patient. Right now I'm not very good with the demands of others, either. I'm sure this will change down the road. After all, all it takes is patience. I'm glad you've put this into perspective for me, Phillip. Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 33 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,009 Amount Saved: $297 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 18 Mins: 47 Seconds: 54
