Hi Joonie, You're absolutely right, no sense worrying and stressing yourself out prematurely. If you start to feel anxious keep in mind your lungs are still healing from years of smoke inhalation. Whatever the outcome, we're here to lend a helping hand with anything you may need or any questions you may have. Danielle _______________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hey Joonie I am here for you. You are so right about not getting worked up. For me I have no control over what is physically happening and I need to let go of my great desire to control that very thing. The upshot, I am here every day. If you need support shout out and I will be here. Thanks for sharing. I get reassurance and support by hearing you tell what is going on with you. joonie........I am just about at the 5 month mark now, and am still expectorating small amounts of phlegm between 3 and 5 times a day. This is a good thing........the more U get out the more room U have for air! The healing process at the cell level is very slow but, U can help your body and lung capacity by " exercising " those lungs. By this I mean deep beathing, in through your nose and forced out through your mouth. Or the better method would be to just do anything which increases your inspirations...........walk, swim, climb stairs........U know the drill. Drink lots and lots of water, and either a steam room or a steam bath at home with eucalyptus will help break up all that phlegm.............slow deep breaths.........mmmmmmmmmmmmm..........I can feel myself healing just talking about it! LOL Riverdale man is right..........can't go back...........just keep marching forward. Cheers, Pat My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/2/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 143 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,152 Amount Saved: $572 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 18 Mins: 16 Seconds: 3

Hi Winners! Hey, I just want to put it out there that I may be requiring some extra support in a week or so. I asked my doctor for a PFT as I wanted to know where I stand with my lungs and although the tech said it mostly came out great, there was some abnormalcy in the gas absorption. Of course I looked online and started to get concerned. NO, I'm not going to smoke because of this, but I think I may be looking for moral support. You know the funny thing is that we had all kinds of blood tests and everything was within the normal range. Okay, Okay....I'll wait to talk with the Doc before going too worked up. Thanks for letting me talk about it. Hey all you short-term smokers, just another good reason to give up smoking!! Not worth it.
