Ya know I guess I shouldn't expect a pat on the back for every little thing but I just need to vent (or maybe whine). I saw a neurologist a few days ago and during the exam we were making small talk; I told him that after thiry some years I had recently quit smoking and I guess I was expecting an "atta girl!"but he said "What took you so long?" :(.What a poop. You know that is the good thing about this place. Not everyone we come across or talk to is going to care or want to constantly hear about how good we are doing. I too get depressed and very emotional about things. I also take things way too personally sometimes. However, you can come on here and brag all you want. You are guaranteed to be congratulated here because we are here for your support and we are all in the same shoes together like one big family. I am on my millionth try lol. I quit for one year before with the help of this place and wish I never started again. I really really want to make it work though. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 111 Amount Saved: $20 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 50 Seconds: 2

Trudy, congratulations on your decision to quit smoking and just look at those 19 days WOW!!! It's okay to whine, I do a lot of it and also on occasion I have a pity party, no one is invited just me. My Dr didn't give me a pat on the back either, as a matter of fact because of my depression he suggested that I wait for awhile. Well I didn't want to wait. So I ask him if the patch would be okay with the other meds that I was taking. He just shook his head yes. I find that I get my feelings hurt really easy and I didn't use to be that way. I have also experienced ANGER, not all the time, but most of the time I am angry at myself. So you can expect just about anything on this emotional roller coaster. But please remember why you quit and keep saying I CAN DO THIS, somedays it will be hard but do some deep breathing and keep BUSY!!!! Blessing and love sent your way!!!
