Using the patch

Sheila, Thanks you for sharing this information. While some may experience these side effects not everyone does. It is always recomended to speak with your ordering Physician first before starting any type of NRT to figure out which best will suite the individual and inform them of any ongoing problems. Let me first say that I am in no way trying to discourage the use of the patch or any other NRT, as I am sure that these methods have been the key to success of many quits. However, seeing some of the post on this site made me wonder about the side effects of using the patch. I did a quick web search and found that some side effects of the patch include sleeplessness, anxiety, and tremors, just to name a few. The ones I did name were included in the list of "if you have these, contact your doctor immediatly". With that said, I just want all of our patch users to remember that the patch itself is a medication and must be treated as such. Be sure to follow the directions of your brand and stay in touch with your personal doctor. You may be having a normal withdrawal symptom, you may be having a more serious side effect of the patch, or as our support specialist have said many times smoking may have been masking a more serious health issue. The latter two only your doctor can help you with. I want to see everyone have a safe and successful quit. Wishing all another smoke-free day!
