Cleaning and helping around the house is probably the best gift anyone can give me!

Sounds like a great way to show your love, support, and pitch in and help.  Glamorous?  What's not glamorous about that? "allure, romance, excitement"  sounds glamorous to me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Goofy,

Yup, I found the message here after a while! For my wife I cleaned the entire house for this Thanksgiving weekend as we are hosting a dinner here. It's not the most glamorous way to demonstrate my love for her, but this is just the beginning of things to come and she was really happy she could focus on preparing the food and other stuff.

Happy thanksgiving weekend to you Goofy!

It is quite frustrating. It only lasted a day, but I can't help but think when it starts "how long will it last this time?".  I am grateful only one day of the dizziness.  Now I have to get through the rest of it - tinnitus and pressure in my ears.  But as Diva saus, this too shall pass.
Strength 18, I read where you posted about me having a rough week and wishing me well.  lol, I can't find where you said that - I hope you see this here!
Thanks and yes I do appreciate your helping me keep on keeping on.  We will get through it.  I'm not dizzy today and I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
So glad to hear that you've renewed your relationship with your wife.  How is she responding.....Have you gone on a date yet?  One of our other "groupees" took his wife on a date, I think they had more than fun.  lol
Have you thought about a date?  If kids, with a real babysitter, a night away....Just an idea - you probably have some of your own.  Glad you recognize the importance of that relationship in your life and that she's that special someone!

Goofy,

Sounds like this dizziness you are experiencing is quite frustrating, understandably so! If it is something you are going to have to "live with", you've brought up some really great ideas for planning ahead (keeping a meal in the freezer..etc). It is also great to hear that your son is being supportive. Having people around that are aware of what you are going through and can you help you out is a positive.

Don't worry about complaining, we are here for you!

Members, how do you cope with dizziness?

Ashley, not trying to sound too harsh but they said "live with it".  I am grateful it is something I can live with.  It only lasted 2 days this time.  It has lasted up to 10 days.  It waxes and wanes, there is no precipitation factor (that I can find).  I've charted everything - I guess you could figure that out about me though.  Meniere's Disease is a chronic condition, it causes hearing loss, initially the hearing loss waxes and wanes with the dizziness but over time becomes permanent.  I haven't ask if the hearing loss is correctable.  I feel a slight pressure in my ears. tinnitus, eyes are sensitive to light and ears to noises.
I've heard about other treatments for Meniere's Disease through people who've had it and understand in some countries there are other treatment options available.  I need to revisit the Meniere's disease site to see if there are any new FDA approved treatments in the US.
Meclizine does help some but you can't drive moving machinery nor would I want to try to with the dizzy and the medication effects.  I've gotten places and had to call someone to pick me up - it's onset can be that sudden.  It's somewhat embarassing that I appear drunk (staggering) and my thoughts are way more jumbled than normal and words escape me, even the simpliest of words, so conducting business isn't an option.  However, as long as it isn't a police officer who thinks I'm in public, I'm okay with what others think, I think.  lol
My son is very supportive.  I can't cook and be dizzy so if I haven't got lunch meat or something that doesn't require cooking, he'll go by the store for me.  However, After this last bit, I'm going to buy something to put in the freezer for just such an occasion (lunch meat or something).
Okay, enough complaining about the dizzy stuff.  I guess until the next time it happens.  The dizzy part is over, the pressure and tinnitus linger but it isn't so bad as having the dizzy on top of it all.

goofy,

Depression is hard on the body.  It makes sense that other illiness and issues will surface when you are feeling depressed. What has your doctor said about your concerns?

I am sorry you are not feeling well.  Know we are hear to listen.  Please let us know how you are doing.  Be easy on yourself today.

Well, I woke up this a.m., came to my computer to do my morning computer ritual and things to help my depression.
At 9:00 a.m. I found myself dizzy.  (I have Meniere's disease) well, they said abnormal vestibular functioning with nystagmus.  Anyway, to bed I went with my meclazine, the only thing they know that helps.  lol, helps it means you sleep!
I want to sleep anyway when I am dizzy so there I go!!!!
I've been in bed all day and I'm sitting here now - the dizzy is getting worse so I won't be too much longer.
I didn't have this before the depression, heck I didn't have alot of other health issues before the depression.  This one comes and goes and for that I am grateful.  Others are constant, but I've found over time their symptoms have lessened.
At one time I took 17 pills, today I take 4.  I said phooey on those.  Well, 5, meclazine when I get dizzy.  2/5 are for the depression and 1 is hormones.  The other is for GERD which is alot better so I take it as needed too.  I also take OTC fish oil, it is said to help with cholesterol and I am allergic to Statin medications so that's it for me.
Has anyone else experience other health issues that weren't there pre-depression or did they get worse after the depression?
I'm just curious, it seems that when I get "sick", I tend to focus on those issues and that makes them "worse".
