Members, how does reflecting back on fond memories help you relax?
Yes, fond memories do help me relax. I am really happy to have taken several photos of some of the fond moments. When I want to relax and smile I take my boxes of pictures out and go through them and am reminded of so many good times!
Happy easter Red, thanks for reminding me of this simple pleasure in life.
I have been reminiscing about the good old days today with Easter Sunday coming tomorrow. I remember the good times I had on Easter with my son and my father camping in the desert, riding dirt bikes, sitting next to big campfire at night and looking for falling stars. My father was a firefighter and my son is one now also. He liked to get away and relax and unwind from the job by spending Easter camping in the desert. I have many found memories of the time I spent with my father and also my grandfather when I was growing up. I spent a lot of time fishing with my grandfather, growing things and going for walks in the park. My son was the joy of my life and we spent a lot of time together when he was little, fishing, boogie boarding, riding skateboards and riding dirt bikes in the desert on camping trips. I was a very young mom so I was able to do all of these things with him. We had a great time together. I find as I get older that I reflect back on these memories a lot more. I get great joy from all these memories when looking back on my life now. I find them very comforting and peaceful and they help me to relax. A form of meditation for me I suppose. I wonder if anyone else uses fond memories as a way to relax?
