Hey Nikole, xanax isnt the only thing that can help you, xanax stops the panic WHILE its happening but Ciprager stops it FROM happening, I was put on 40mg straight away and they did wonders! Supposedly they are non-addictive too but I wasnt on them long enough to find out as I wanted to deal with them in long-term with a cognitive behavioural therapist rather then short-term with the meds! I think Ciprager or lexapro are fantastic but as with all anti-anxiety meds, they only have full benefits and taken while having on-going therapy!! I really really hope it gets better for you,Im tryin my hardest to get rid of them too but sadly I dont have enough money to go to a therapist :(:(:(

Nikole, You have come to the right place! Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests. These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. We also have developed a Panic Program. This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above. Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead. If you have any question or concerns with our €œTOOLS€, you can contact at support@paniccenter.net. We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have. Our online support group is amazing and very supportive. Please feel free to post at any time. We are here to help. Welcome, Josie ________________________ The Panic Support Team.

Your concern with xanax is justified. I have severe panic disorder and became addicted because you build a tolerance to it and need more. I have been off it now for 2 months and they have decided to add Gabitril an anti siezure med out now to my Lexapro. I would advise a good therapist if you don't have one now. Mine has helped me tremendously on my panic attacks although with most severe disorders the meds are the biggest help.

I take Klonopin, just to take the edge off. They are supposedly addictive, but i only take them when i feel an attack coming on. You might also want to read this book i found. It's called "overcoming panic disorder: a womens guide"... i made a post about it with the details. I bought it on half.com for 75 cents, and its def worth it.

Hi my name is Nikole/23/SC.I have been suffering from intense fears/panic attacks for years.I've tried so many different programs and many different medications. Sometimes I'm good and most of the time i'm a wreck.I've read many books on this condition. Feel the fear and do-it anyway is a great quote. I am agoraphobic,I havent gotten to far away from my home in years.I wish I could just let go and go.Have fun and be happy..But it's too much of a struggle for me and I dont know why I have to have this disorder taughting my mind daily.Well the doctor wants me to go on xanxas for the panic attacks..I'm already on a anti-depressant,and have been for many years.Ijust dont want the addiction of xanxas,I had it rough on them before (when I had to stop them). Now I'm afraid to take the madication.Yet I feel like that it's the only thing that's going to give me relief.. any suggestions? Nikole Please reply...
