How does posting make you feel

Posting has been more therapuetic for me than any medication I've taken. I can't say how important it's been to open up completely with people who know exactly what you're going through. I can't tell you how important it's been to be able to share experiences and provide encouragement to people who are going through the same thing. This site has been a godsend. I'd like to see a little more activity on the message boards, but overall this site has changed my life. I am so grateful. Should I be lucky enough to overcome my illness, I will continue to post. We need to be here for each other. Not many people realize what we're dealing with.

Harley, Posting is a big help..........One of the MAJOR issues with anxiety is that people are ashamed to tell anyone about it.............Be open about it....It is nothing to be ashamed of.......Ive had it for 5yrs....The less you hold back the better.....I'm not saying to nag everyone about it....But the more you talk about it, the more you realize millions of people have the same thing you do.......Actually, later on in life I found out some of the people I looked up to as a kid were fighting the same thing I'm fighting now.......Let go of the fear and relax.......30 million people in this country are going through what you are..........YOU ARE NOT ALONE.......God Bless!!!

Harley, At first I felt guilty about posting on here, like "everyone has their own problems, they don't need to be burdened with mine also". As the days go by though, I have found that posting here has made me feel less alone and "crazy". I also feel that if there are other people out there who deal with the type of things I'm dealing with on a daily basis, I hope that sharing my experiences will help them feel a little better themselves. It's amazing these days, how far one word of encouragement can go, from someone who really understands. I hope you find this place to be as validating and valuable as I have thus far. Cheers, Lolita.

I was really reluctant to post openly about my anxiety also. I didn't get a nagging sentation, but I did feel some anxiety when writing about it. I total agree with sarah. Since I started sharing my anxiety with others on this site, it has really helped me. I have had this disorder off and on for 25 years. I had taken paxil for 9 months (That was the longest that they would let you be on it back then)it helped me to get my bearings togather, so I could practic going threw my anxiety, panic and getting to the other side(not being afraid of the attacks) I feel that posting is like Journaling and seems to be the icing on the cake for me. It is really helping others when you share your anxiety, and just knowing that you could be helping someone else can take your mind off of yourself for a while and I think that can be great therapy. Sorry, for going on for so long trying to learn how to make a long storie short. :p

Harley, i just want to let you know that you should not feel ashamed or embarressed about your anxiety and panic attacks i think everyone on this site is extreamly supportive and loving. Noone will judge you. Personally it really helps me to share my anxiety with other people not only does it make me feel more normal i also think it helps my anxiety. I hope you feel better about it. We are all in the same boat and here to support each other. :) sarah

There is always the sidelines yes but despite that 'nagging' feeling I do want to post because it does help me to hear what others go through and maybe I can contribute to that archive of support and I'm trying to overcome that sense of embarrassment about talking about panic attacks with folks other than psychiatrists.

Harley, I agree with you that it is hard to open up and expose the hell that we go through each day... to complete strangers even, but just think, whatever you have to say, might make someone else feel less isolated knowing that someone else is going through the same. But feel no obligation!

Does anyone else get a nagging sensation while they're posting here that they shouldn't be openly expressing this stuff, especially details about attacks? I know this sounds silly but...
