lynnp, i myself beleive the same as you that it is in the mind & i can do this without medication, but u should not feel weak for needing something to help you. It is far better to be on prescribed drugs than turn to alchoholism to help you cope (like many do). Also I dont seem to have symptoms anywhere near as bad as the people on here, but im still scared of what can happen to me. If I got much worse, i wouldnt hesitate on taking medication to help me through. I think we all feel that "this shouldnt happen to me, i am stronger than this"

Hi there, i don't know this med in particular, but i know that stopping such a drug needs to be done carefully, never cold turkey. You are most probably experiencing withdrawal. By tapering down the dose over time, the effects are much less severe. Do see your doc and discuss it with him/her. I tapered off Paxil over a period of 4 months and now its 3 months later and I'm still getting used to life without meds. So don't do this alone, you need a plan.

Hi Lynn i agree with Casey about following up with your doctor i think when you stop these sorts of meds you need to do it gradually and be watched very carefully because from what i gather withdrawal is hellish.Sorry i cant help more.Take care. Lulu..

Hi Lynn, Fellow members will be responding soon, but I just wanted to suggest that you may want to follow up with your doctor re how you have been feeling since stopping the medications. Also - please don't ever fear that you are being a "pain" here...one thing we all definitely understand is what it is like to experience feelings of panic and anxiety.
