Have to Leave the House tonight

13 years ago 0 542 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I actually went out to dinner last night for my son's birthday! I was very nervous but I did it. Two days in a row. I am happy that I did that but today I feel so terrible and I do not know why. I slept well and woke up feeling exhausted and tired, I have a swollen gland in my neck which I normally never get and its worrying me, I got bit by a mosquito and I think its related because of that "dengue fever" outbreak going on. Sunny explained why I am feeling like that and that helped, I am trying not to dwell on it too much, I just thought after leaving the house two days in a row I would feel better, today I am very tired with the swollen gland and I feel I have a touch of a urinary tract infection, keep running to the bathroom, can eating food with garlic cause that? I ate linguni with olive oil and garlic {which I heard is very very healthy dish} I just wonder if it could cause urinary problems, I know its not causing the swollen gland. I am trying to just focus on what I did., shopping Friday, dinner last night that is positive, but these darned body symptoms are worrying me again, and then I start to think  "something MUST be wrong". My husbands surgery is tommorow and I am concerned about that. Well I just will try to get through the day and not dwell on how weak and tired I am and focus about being able to leave my house two days in a row.

The first step to curing Hypochondria is admitting you have it. Congratulations on doing that. That is very positive.
Congratulations on getting out too. Good exposure.

I DID IT!! I am so happy and hopeful for a change. I actually went to TJ Maxx and got my son some shorts and t-shirts for his birthday, I even bought a white blouse for myself and shorts for my husband, all on clearance sale with is an added perk.

I cant believe I did it. I was very nervous especially standing in line but thankfully the store was not at all busy and I get in and out quickly, I almost did not go but I forced myself, I have to get myself out of this agorophobia so I can go to the Doctor again and see my nurse-practioner and other places, it was not easy tonight but I am hoping next time it will be, do you think?

I just wish my husband would of shown more enthusiasm about it, he did not seem to think it was a "real big deal" probably thinking I just went shopping, but I have not gone in a clothes store since December of last year so I think it was a big deal, he wants me to go out during the day more and I am working on that, I think tonight was a good start, I wanted to post something positive for a change and I know all the members will be happy and proud of me for what I mastered tonight.

I have to try to get over the hypocrondria and health anxiety, I actually freaked out for hours earlier because a mosquito bit me a few times and we are having outbreaks of Dengue fever and west nile in our area, and now I am convinced I might of contracted it, I am trying not to fear it or dwell on it, but I know west nile and dengue fever are very serious illnesses and I just hope I did not catch it from the bites I got, it was all over the news and I think it scared me, heres hoping I dont get it.

I just dont want to worry about dengue fever tonight, I just want to stay happy in what I did tonight, I hope I do not get sick and I continue on, I guess tonight was a good start, but I do feel in my heart I have a ways to go yet, hoping its up and not down.

Deb,

You are progressing well and this exposure will really help you move forward.  Take some extra time and pick out a gift only a mother could!

Sorry about your previous post?  I didn't see it..let me know if this happens again, it might be a system error!

We are here for you!

I wrote another post and I think it may have been deleted and I am glad! I sounded hysterical, I got bit by mosquito twice and I was scared of getting dengue fever or west nile virus which has been reported in our area, I have calmed down a bit and trying not too think about it, anotherwords dont worry until it happens, hard to do but to master this I must do it.

I have to go to the store in about a half an hour to get my son birthday gifts, in the past few months I have only been going out in my "perimeter" anotherwards just down the street to the grocery, or drugstore and walking the dogs in the neighborhood, this store is five miles away and I hope I can do this, its my son's birthday and I must muster the courage to do it, what kind of Mother would not go and get her son gifts? I am very nervous about this, worrying about passing out, getting sick, or making a fool of myself, I am going to try and force myself to go, if I cant do this for my son I will never do it, does that make sense? My husband does NOT want me to go, he is probably afraid I will freak out and humilate him, but if I dont I never will, I will let you know later tonight if I was able to go and how it went, I am so hoping if I succed, I can lick this agorophobia that has been with me for so long, please wish me luck, I hope I can do it! Its for my son what better reason? I just hope I can.
