Heart related

kchendrix, Premature ventricular contractions or PVCs are also known as "extrasystoles." They are "extra" heartbeats. They arise from an irritable area in the heart's lower pumping chambers (the ventricles). PVCs interrupt the normal heart rhythm and cause an irregular beat. This is often felt as a "missed beat" or a "flip-flop" in the chest. PVCs are often harmless, but when they occur very often or repetitively, they can presage more serious rhythm disturbances. I also experience these occasionally. I was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse twenty years ago. Things that can trigger them are caffeine, cigarettes, alcohol and chocolate. I avoid these things. But do have a piece of chocolate occasionally, can€™t totally live without that. I also try to eat a healthy varied diet and supplement with minerals. Especially magnesium, which helps normalize the heartbeat.

Dear Kchendrix, My heart goes out to you. I just started having heart palps and chest pain within the last few days I have never had this before and it scares me, but I have read with panic and anxiety they are SO common and rarely dangerous, the tests sound good your heart is normal which is great! Another member on this site Khrys knows so much about this, she has that condition and has great knowledge on it. DO you have chest pain too? I know smoking and caffiene cause these, smoking especially for me. Let me know how you are doing? Are you are any medications? Look forward to hearing from you. GOd bless, Debbie.

Well I have been doing well. until this past week .. I went on vacation , The third night there I stated experiencing Heart Palpatations... In the past I had on an off... But these weren't going away... I went to the emergency room.. They said you are having PVC's nothing to worry about.. Unplugged me and sent me on my way.. Before vacation I had stress test and echo... Stress test normal.. Echo showed Trace Mitra Valve Prolapse. I have been scared since the event this week and couldn't enjoy the vacation.. Couldn't sleep .. I see my doctor on Monday.. Anyone know any thing about PVC's
