I think doctors want all of us on Paxil, it was the first thing my doctor put me on and then I decided after everything I heard I didn€™t want to be on it so in less than a month I stopped taking it. I think unless you suffer from something severe that is untreatable you shouldn€™t be on a medication like Paxil, which is in the same group as Prozac and from what I have found on this web site Panic attacks are treatable.
Hi andrea, i dont take meds i dont trust them plus the meds may help your panic attacks but dont think it would cure the agoraphobia i wish they did, but taking meds may help in other ways my doc was always very reluctant to start me on meds for agoraphobia and lets face it we always have to come off them and what then, i can go out im not housebound i manage pretty good and getting better all the time but its very hard work but worth it and i pleased i can do it without the meds. :)
any medications for that matter. Advil is the only thing I can take and not panic. So..here I sit with a filled prescription of Paxil CR, 12.5mg and I'm scared to death to take it. All the horror stories I hear. Side effects, withdrawal/discontinuation effects. Yet, my anxiety/panic and agoraphobia are making my life unbearable. What can I do about this fear of medications. I am specifically afraid of dizziness/vertigo/lightheadness as a side effect, more than any other effect. I can handle nausea, etc...but I have a phobia about dizziness. Also..the "brain zaps" I keep hearing about when people have tried to go off of the medications scare me. I'm afraid of having a seizure, though I've never had one. What do I do??
