Quote of the Day Part Two

Lucky I read about the toxic part of the rhubarb on the internet, since I cooked some cabbage rolls the next day.  Except for the red colour, the leaves look so alike!

Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.

I've been looking for a green Rhubarb plant for a few years now. It tastes horrible I know but it makes the best wine. For those that don't touch alcohol you can boil the alcohol off it and still have the taste with no side effects. Boil off approximately 11% of the liquid.

With Rhubarb being harvested, there's nothing like some apple sauce and Rhubarb Compote. If you are what you eat, and I like something tart...

Whew!  I'm glad you laughed Ashley :)  I thought it may get deleted, because it was too off color, so to speak.  Glad everyone has a good sense of humor about it :)

Thanks,  Shari

LOL Shari!

I would have laughed my head off too..partially because it is a tab unexpected coming from such a sweet lady like you. LOL Don't you lose that spunk, ever!

Failure comes only when we forget our ideals and objectives and principles.

In all this talk about failure, I asked myself today, who's the judge?

If politeness is about placing people at ease, then I don't think your remark, since it's self-deprecating humour, could be inappropriate.  I'll have to thank an etiquette teacher of many years ago for her course, although it's never too late to practise civility.

Maybe if we were all more civil, there'd be fewer people who are unwell, as well as trigger-happy 3rd world countries who can't make dollar-store-quality-toys.  My little world feels so much smaller with any mention of "nuclear" threats.

My avatar shows my change from my childhood's sensitivity to skin blemishes of the same colour but they're seductive now, and the juices are sweet and something to look forward to.

I was going to call myself a pepper head, but apparently that has a derogatory term in another culture, so context and so many other things can make us laugh or cry.

I have a lot more laughing I wish I could  do

Hi Davit,

I'm sure I screwed up the quote

Hi Hugs,

Re:  you are what you eat...I was talking to Todd, the chip guy, at Target and I told him I was going to get a bag of Stacy's Parmesan and Herb Pita Chips.  I said, "If you are what you eat, just call me Stacy." and he laughed.  One time I was on a junk food jag and I bought a box of Ho Ho's.  I told the cashier, "I hope the saying, 'you are what you eat', doesn't apply in this case.  I don't want to be a Ho."  She couldn't stop laughing.  I know, inappropriate, but it was still funny

Davit,
Your anecdotes can be so inspirational!  I was so constipated today I was walking on eggshells, and then got engrossed in measuring the porch, completely forgetting my pain.  It was so easy compared to the fear I had about doing it.  Worry is such as waste.  I frittered time away today when I could have bought some rhubarb, but I will tomorrow or maybe someone else has it around here so I'll take a walk later.

Shari,
I was inspired when I saw some of the collages on social networking site Pinterest.  I'm afraid I botched the recipe for a strawberry smoothie, by trying to sneak in some yogurt for mom...but individually they are sweet.  The funniest quote there was that someone posited if "...if you are what you eat..." then I want to eat beautiful flowers.
