Quote of the Day Part Two

Hi Shari,
I'm a bit depleted, and didn't think of just saying I'd have it myself.

I'm back from the dentist, and had a rough time.  My throat dried out during the anaesthetic, and I kept coughing, feeling sorry for the dentist and assistant.  All I had to do is breathe through the nose, but it was so uncomfortable, and I was even wheezing.  I guess it was just me, since there was nothing else.

On the other hand, it is the start of allergy season, and I could always increase doing some dusting.  I'm not good with pain, and though, during the 90 minutes, which included a cavity fix, how much my mom has to go through.

I worked out after, instead of going for a massage, and it will pay off, since I need to get stronger to get my tires ready for the seasonal swap.  My other chiropodist gave me some great exercises so I can get a stronger back to roll the tires.

Hi Hugs,

Sounds yummy!  I like cabbage.  I go to Japan Express for their Maki rolls which consist of chopped cabbage and veggies in a roll.  Also, love the edamame.  I also like their dumplings that have cabbage in them as well.  Also, like the purple cabbage that's put in salad.  Adding potatoes to your dish sounds really good.  If you're putting them on the bottom, maybe Mom can have what's on top :)

If there exists no possibility of failure, then victory is meaningless.

ps. Shari,  I mean binding in the digestive sense, not cooking techniques.

Hi Shari,

They're cabbage rolls in a dutch oven.  I wasn't sure what type of rice to use?  I used brown, gluten-free rice.

I wish that rice wasn't so binding, since this casserole, like most, is easy to serve, and save daily cooking, etc.

I have to remember not to over-cook the cabbage, since it cooks in the oven, after initial soaking.

Martha Stewart actually bought a chef's franchise, and features one take on her website.  They don't suggest using the cabbage hard core(not that kind of hardcore!) membrane is so thick, that it's better to remove surgically, and chew on the bus, later if you're bored.   That stalk can't cook uniformly.

What I wished I had done, is lined the base of the pan with potatoes, which would sop up the cabbage and condiments in the oven cooking.  Mom wasn't into my deviation, suggested by Ms. Stewart's chef called "Emeril",
but maybe I'll sneak them in sometime anyway

Hugs -

Your avatar looks delicious; what did you make this time?  It made me hungry, so I think I'll cook up some pasta for dinner :) Love you avatars!  My current avatar is a rose colored rejection dragon, so I named him the positive opposite which is accepted.  I had to take a look at him yesterday when my dinner date blew me off.

There's an artist who says something to the effect that we shouldn't blame anyone else for our failing to be good at art, if we don't pull together the resources to get that work done... name is Rainer Maria Rilke

Ultimately, we're accountable for all the stuff that we have decided and had influence on...except for those who are professional blamers.  Sometimes I catch myself doing that though, and I don't like that side of me

Go forth and be productive. How and if you do it is strictly up to you. Don't blame the creator or anyone if you don't or don't know what to do.
